Reviews
The customer service here is top-notch. Despite having only one server and one cook, both were incredibly nice and attentive, ensuring that every guest felt valued and well taken care of. Due to the limited space, they accommodate parties of up to six people, which helps maintain the intimate and cozy ambiance.
One thing to note is that they add a gratuity of 20% for groups of four or more, which is a fair practice given the personalized service and small team.
The food is simply phenomenal. Every dish has a homemade quality that makes you feel like you’re eating at your mom’s kitchen table. One highlight is their cafe de olla, which is exceptionally good and adds a special touch to the meal.
Overall, this restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience. The combination of excellent service, delicious homey food, and a cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a heartfelt and satisfying meal.
I had the Ortiga Chorizo Wet Burrito and it was PHENOMENALLY GOOD. We also got the Cafe de Olla which was equally fantastic.
Shoutout to Memis for providing excellent service, super cool guy. I didn’t catch the chef’s name who I assume might be the owner as well but she seemed very nice and on top of her game. Food was out super fast for everyone I saw around us.
PLEASE NOTE: Before walking in there are instructions to sign in and wait outside without seating yourself! It’s a pretty small place and at least 5 different parties had to kindly be asked to do so in the time we were eating there.
Decided to come here after my morning workout, and boy was that post workout meal a treat!
Atticus Cafe is a small joint, with about 10 tables (eye balling). They do not seat parties of more than six people.
The food, coffee, and service were absolutely worth it. I enjoyed their Steak and Eggs plate, and their signature iced coffee (tasted like a horchata coffee, absolutely delicious!).
Service was attentive, friendly, and food came out quick. This place is phenomenal, highly recommend!
Customer service is a bit short and rude. The food is not that great. We wouldn’t go back.
-Chilaquiles- green sauce with steak
-Chilaquiles- red sauce with chicken
-Dickens Benedict – choice of chorizo or ham – I got chorizo, over muffins topped with salsa.
We came here because they are known for chilaquiles. I would say, stick to that menu item. The chips are house made and crispy. I can’t stand chilaquiles that have soggy chips. This place serves crispy chips.
The chicken was super dry white meat. The steak was so much tastier. You get two eggs any style on top.
There’s really no difference with the sauce. The green sauce was sour. The red sauce taste like, it’s the exact same green sauce with a few drops of red sriracha for a spicy kick.
The Benedict was soggy because it’s drenched in salsa vice hollandaise. So I’m not used to soggy muffins. I should have picked ham instead of chorizo because it had its own flavors that didn’t go right when combined. I had asked for no cotija and it came out with cotija so they had to make another dish. (Looking at reviews of this same item, I don’t see their plate drenched in salsa).
The nephew got the pancake combo which comes with two small pancakes (actually looked like regular size), 1 egg and bacon but we substituted it for sausage patty. We got chocolate chip vice plain pancakes.
I didn’t try this but the mother was feeding the child and only ate the sausage. The eggs and most of the pancake left behind. The mother usually finishes the kids meal but she didn’t. Which tells me the food isn’t that great.
The potatoes were wet like greasy. I should have asked for extra crispy. It’s as if it was cooked in the same oil as everything else.
The kitchen is out in the open for everyone to see so you can see the chef making your food. It’s like a one man show doing everything. So probably cutting corners.
