I feel like it’s necessary that l do this review about my hometown bagel spot. I have been coming here since I was a kid and have always enjoyed their bagels and sandwiches. Although they do still have great bagels and food, the service has plummeted down hill over the last several years. It went from sometimes being hit or miss with getting something about your order wrong, to now usually always getting your order wrong, waiting there forever to pick up food and hearing the chaos of the workers yell about what’s going wrong. I along with most people seem to do door dash pickup these days at Atlantic bagel because I would assume the thought is, it’s written down for them thus hard to screw up and it will be ready when you go pick it up. Well the last two times I have done DoorDash pickup there, neither of these were the case. I still waited over ten minutes on a simple bagel sandwich order that I placed over 25 mins ago and there still wasn’t things on the sandwhich, that I had paid for! It’s like they’re not even trying anymore and it’s definitely not just me, I see it and hear it with other customers in there. It’s just a shame to see such a staple of a place that has good food just continue to provide this bad of service to its loyal customers. Also the cleanliness and overall appearance of the place is just filthy and old. I know that most bagel places aren’t known for their updated appearance or cleanliness but for a town like Atlantic highlands that is very up and coming and new age, they really need to consider giving it a makeover. If you’re thinking of going to Atlantic bagel, make sure you don’t have to be anywhere anytime soon and you sit down and eat it in there so you can make sure everything you ordered is correct.

I felt welcomed when we walked in. The bagel I got was very hard and the cream cheese didn’t have a taste to it. It’s a very nice place. I think the bagels just need to be softer. I would definitely return to try different sandwiches. Nothing bad to say about this place. Just one or two improvements. Overall 3/5

One of those delis you only get in the tri-state area. Fresh bread daily, Boars Head meats, and a staff that knows how to build proper sandwiches for hungry working folk

And responding to the other reviews – I get egg sandwiches and bagels here semi-regularly and I’ve never had problems, only deliciousness

I have been a long time resident of Highlands. I haven’t really frequented the Atlantic Highlands area until I got older . I ate here yesterday for the first time and I was blown away by the food, atmosphere, and the customer service from the staff. As a person of color, I’m always nervous walking into some establishments in the area but the welcoming energy I received from staff made me comfortable quickly . The customer service was kind, positive, & welcoming. I had ordered a sausage, egg, & cheese with a hash brown on an everything bagel. This is my second day back and it tastes just as good as it did yesterday! You guys are doing good, keep up the good work <3

Great bagels! It was our first bagel on our holiday to NJ and we loved it. A busy place and we had to wait around for 15 minutes but was worth the wait. We got our bagels to take away to the beach. Nicely rapped and really tasty! I ordered The Empire State and my boyfriend ordered The Atlantic. Empire state was amazing!

I’ve come here a lot over the years but the level of disorganization has become crazy. Online order, waited 15 minutes because they don’t have a pickup line, and it turns out it wasn’t even in the kitchen yet. Couldn’t wait any more. Nobody has time for this. Would have taken an hour all-in. Won’t bother requesting a refund because I’m sure it would be another waste of time.

I would like to change my review, I don’t put out bad reviews lightly but they reached out and asked for a second chance. I am conceding to that they probably had a bad day or off moment. Also despite there offer to make it right, I couldn’t make it back there to let them before I left town. I’m gonna new review at my past experiences with this place.

ok been going here most of my life, today it was not good. My bagel was stale, egg overcooked poked and two very thin pieces of pork roll.
it really stunk and the. made me sick. Must be new management, i dont think ill go here anymore.
