Wow, delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, what more could you ask for ? Oh yeah and did I mention their fries are out of this world crispy???? Pictured is the Athena’s breakfast special, patty melt, olive burger, and a side Greek salad, the salad was huge and so so good. This will definitely be a repeat spot for us.

I was asked if I want to start with a coffee, and ordered “HALF CAF”….like half regular and half decaf. Instead, they brought me this. What a glorious miscommunication because, like everything on their menu, it was DELICIOUS! I will absolutely be back.

The first time we went here, we got gyros and they were pretty good. Not mind-blowing, but good. We went there for the 2nd time today and I got French toast. The food was very mediocre. Everyone else at the table felt the same. And the prices for what you get are too much. I spent $4 on a side of bacon—it was 2 tiny slices. A side of a very thin slice of sausage was also $4. My meal with 20% tip was almost $25. Not worth it by any means. The service was great. Very kind folks. But the food for the price is disappointing. Might be back for a gyro someday but that’s about it.

Our new home is in Lansing. We had breakfast at Athena’s Diner. I rate the whole experience a 3. The hash browns tasted like they were cooked in old grease. My husband had the gyro scramble and really liked it. Not real friendly atmosphere. 3 1/2 total stars

Athena’s is a local treasure. The service was fast and friendly. I got the Athena’s Special, which was perfect. The bacon was crisp, the hash browns were perfectly fried, the eggs weren’t runny at all, and the toast was toasty.
I didn’t like that they had Fox “News” on, but I just sat with my back to it. Overall, though, it’s a good diner to sit at and work for a while.

It was good not bad not great. Our waitress was great very pleasant and helpful. The food was average/good. Could have made the same stuff at home for 1/3 the price. I had breakfast an my wife had lunch both was good just a lil pricey, but with groceries being how they are who knows. I might come back an try the Ruben see how they do.

The 5 stars is for their French Fries! (this includes restaurants like; Kitchen One North, Leo’s Lodge, The Harrison Roadhouse, and Fleetwood Diner) The balance of the MASS of the fry to the SURFACE AREA of the fry is right on the money!! If you are in the mood for a burger to go with your Fries, I recommend the “Athena’s Burger” substituted with ‘Feta Cheese’ instead of the ‘standard cheese.’
Party On!!!

Pleasant employees, clean restaurant. I was a little disappointed in the gyro. I figured you can’t get more authentic Greek food than at a Greek restaurant. My mouth was watering for the fresh and juicy meat cut off the vertical broiler. But it tasted and looked like the bland gyro strips they sell in the grocery stores for $5 a pack. I also think it was just lamb meat instead of the lamb beef combo. I found it strange they charged an extra dollar to add lettuce and cheese. The Tiki sauce was good. The hamburger meal was delicious. Thick and juicy. The star of the table were the French fries. Golden brown, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We will be back for the French fries.

Definitely popular with the locals, this place is your basic diner with a Greek dressing over it. Food is pretty basic, usually cooked in a lot of butter.

Really good food. Great service. My friend and I both agreed how good it was after we left. I think I found my new favorite diner!
