Riding the gondola up to the peak was wonderful. The cafeteria has amazing views and a good variety of food. There are many things for kids to do up there to burn off some energy.

Amazing. The service here for my cousin’s wedding was phenomenal, the food was great, catered perfectly for any food sensitivities. I really can’t express how great the wait staff was. They were ALWAYS on top of their service, to impress and please the guests, so willing to answer any questions about the dish, or confirm that something was gluten free etc. The setting was beautiful, little touches of umbrellas, and blankets for comfort were perfect.

Had a legendary wedding here. Food handled by the Little Nell at the base of the mountain, absolutely fantastic. The views were some of the best we have ever seen in our lives. The quality of the structure up here even though it’s so remote… shockingly high. It’s a modern oasis. Truly a special experience for an event like this. Probably not cheap but surely worth it.

Great place to eat…a little pricey, ($17 for burger only) but it was probably the best burger I’ve had in years. Views are beautiful. The gondola ride up is nice, if you like heights and takes about 15-20min to the top.

Aspen’s Sundeck isn’t your ordinary ski lodge cafeteria. Sure, the panoramic mountain views are the main attraction, but don’t underestimate the food! They have fresh, delicious options for all tastes, from salads to burgers. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxation, with a spacious patio and a cozy fireplace indoors. It’s a great place to rest and refuel after a day of summer or winter activities in Aspen.

A must visit while in Aspen. Located atop Aspen Mountain, the Gondola ride is about 20 minutes to get there. The views are breathtaking! There are easy hiking opportunities during the summer, and guided snowshoeing trips winter time at the top. During the summer you have to purchase a Gondola ticket or a sightseeing pass (a sightseeing pass is offered during the winter too for non-skiers). The sightseeing pass is a much better deal, because $10 credit at the Sundeck or Ajax Tavern is included in the price. The pass includes other discounts – bike rentals, Limelight Lounge, etc.
The Sundeck is a large and casual self serve restaurant. The food is pizza and burgers, but they have some healthy options such as salads and a protein bowl for vegetarians. They also have a full bar. Get your food and drinks and sit outside on the deck or anywhere where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery. There are activities for kids – my children love riding the Gondola! Sometimes we buy a ticket to go up and down. Definitely make the Sundeck one of your stops while in Aspen. At least the pictures will be totally worth it paying for the Gondola ticket.
