Myself and my girlfriend have eaten here a few times and love it. We turned up on new years eve without a booking and they were still able to accommodate us. All the staff are very friendly, Lee from Newcastle is terrific and a good laugh. The food is perfect and the atmosphere is fantastic. We always look forward to going and cant wait to go again

The LUGANICA SAUSAGE & ‘NDUJA FRILLY TAGLIATELLE is the best pasta hands down I’ve had in the U.K, for a chain restaurant the pastas are exceptional, the flavour profile is amazing and alongside the texture, add some extra chilli oil and pepper and it is superb! The January special was also very delicious, it was a “Lasagne Fonduta” Ask is on the expensive end for Italian restaurants but that is reflected in the flavour their meals offer. The woman that served us today in the Durham location offered excellent customer experience and luckily didn’t make me use the website which was a great change! Overall a very positive experience and a place I’ve been coming for a decade and never disappointed

Authentic Italian food with amazing flavors! The restaurant is spacious and clean, and every dish tastes fantastic. They also have great seasonal menus to choose from — definitely worth a visit.

Valentines night was flat here. Thankful that we arrived early. We ordered from the set menu. Starter cane out quickly which was delicious. We then waited an hour with no mains, people around us waited and waited as well. I asked the waitress where the food was as we had an activity booked for after the meal. She was brilliant and hurried the order along. The pasta dish I ordered tasted like an unseasoned can of chopped tomatoes was just opened one poured over pasta, I searched hard for some slow cooked beef as advertised and found only 2 tiny chunks. We then had no time to have the set menu dessert and had to leave without it. As we left we heard 2 more couples ask staff where their food was. Don’t go on Valentines! First time here and last.

Ordered from ASK Italian Pasta & Pizza and had a great experience. The King Prawn Tagliatelle was absolutely delicious – really fresh, full of flavour, and the prawns were perfectly cooked. The ’Nduja & Cheese Dough Bites were amazing too, with just the right amount of spice and really cheesy. Everything arrived hot and well packaged, and the delivery was quick and smooth. Definitely recommend and will be ordering again!

We had a fantastic time at ASK Italian in Durham! Our party of 12 was warmly welcomed, and despite being a large group, everything ran smoothly. A special shout-out to Alex, who looked after us so well throughout the meal. Their service was friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional — nothing was too much trouble.
The food arrived promptly, was beautifully presented, and tasted delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, making it a perfect spot for a group meal.
Thank you to Alex and the whole team for making our visit so memorable. Highly recommended!

Generally a nice family meal pre Christmas.
Alicia was our waitress and was really friendly & attentive.
Lee was amazing! Barrel of fun & laughs & got us all dressed in festive headgear for a family pic!
Cheese foudue was an absolute delight as always! As was the garlic bread & Caesar salad that was ordered by a member of our party.
However, unfortunately 3 of us whom ordered pasta were disappointed. Pasta was slimey, carbonara not creamy & pasta chicken and mushroom dish was hard on the top (had clearly been under the warmer too long).
The ‘service charge’ at ASK really isn’t fair. It’s expensive for anyone to eat out nowadays & if we receive a good service then we always leave a good tip but be aware of the sting when you pay by card. Really disappointing.
My mum whom is elderly just paid but I realised there was a significant service charge that can be changed if you choose the option on the machine. But I feel ASK is taking advantage as this was not explained by the staff, the machine was given to us with the ‘total price’ displayed but this included a hefty service charge which I feel is very unfair.
I’d return for the fondue & drinks but not for the pasta & will be wary re the astronomical service charge!

We visited ASK Italian for our Christmas night out and had such a lovely experience. The restaurant felt cosy and festive, and the food was absolutely delicious from start to finish — fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented.
A special shout-out to Alex, who looked after us all evening. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect for our group. Her great service really added to the night and made it feel extra special.
