Our server, Ana was absolutely amazing — she handled everything efficiently and professionally. She was very fast, attentive, and clearly took great responsibility for her work. Even during busy moments, everything was well organized thanks to her.
Excellent service and a great dining experience overall. Highly recommended!
Planning to visit again soon❤️
Rumor has it this place used to be called Hiro Sushi. If Hiro’s ghost is still floating around, he’s probably giving high-fives to everyone in the kitchen. Asian Vibes didn’t just carry the torch—they poured gasoline on it and made fire art with sushi rolls. This isn’t just a meal. It’s a rebellion against blandness. A middle finger to franchise sushi chains with glowing fish tanks and no soul. It’s a love letter to Japanese comfort food, handwritten in miso and drizzled with that sauce I’m now legally married to.
I’ve eaten here two days in a row. That’s longer than most of my relationships. And guess what? I’m coming back tomorrow.
This isn’t food—it’s therapy. And I’m all in.
Good:
– Great asian food in an otherwise sparse Asian food location!
– Super fast service – came out really quickly
– The place is simple and clean, wooden ambiance
– The tamago was not too sweet but just enough that it was nice
– The orange chicken teriyaki was nice since it was a bento box with miso soup and other little items like gyoza and tempura. Lots of variety and each was good
– I liked the tempura dragon roll sushi – big portion sizes and very fresh
Bad:
– Got the wrong order at first – chicken karaage instead of chicken teriyaki, but they were nice about it
– A little bit pricier of a meal
Overall enjoyed the meal here and would come again if I was in the area.
Small portions, high prices, very slow and poor service, missing food, incorrect dishes, the wrong check, and an extremely unprofessional chef.
Several tables were vacant but dirty. We waited 15 minutes for someone to clean a table and seat us.
Then we waited another 15 minutes for a server to take our order.
The entrées for two people came out quickly, but the appetizers arrived 30 minutes later. It didn’t seem like they understood how appetizers are supposed to work.
I waited 40 minutes for my food while everyone else had already finished eating. There were no updates or communication from the server. I eventually asked if it was possible to cancel my order, pay for what my friends ate, and leave. At that point, the chef came out YELLING at us in the middle of the restaurant, saying he was angry that we would even ask. Whether he was having a bad day or not, this reaction was completely unwarranted and unacceptable.
They took no responsibility for any of the mistakes and blamed everything on being “busy,” despite the restaurant not being full. I can’t imagine how bad the service would be if it actually were.
A complete lack of training is evident, from the waitstaff to the chef.
This was, without question, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
In the heart of Kings Beach lies a hidden gem that truly brings the essence of the East to Lake Tahoe. Asian Vibes, with its unassuming exterior, surprises you with an experience that could rival any sushi joint in Tokyo or New York.
**Phenomenal Sushi:** The sushi here is simply unparalleled. I highly recommend trying the Hawaiian Volcano or the Hawaiian Sunset. These rolls are a testament to the chef’s creativity and skill, blending fresh, high-quality ingredients into a harmonious explosion of flavors. I indulged in a variety of sushi, each piece as delicious as the last – from the delicate tuna and salmon to the rich albacore and the delightful fried octopus balls.
**Exceptional Service:** Our server was a standout, running a one-man show with grace and efficiency. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Despite being busy, he ensured every table was well taken care of, and every order was perfect.
**Unique Appetizers:** The appetizer, a fried softshell crab, was a showstopper. Tempura-style, it was crispy, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. It’s a must-try that sets the tone for the fantastic meal ahead.
**Refreshing Drinks:** To complement the meal, we tried the raspberry lemonade and the passionfruit boba without the actual boba. Both drinks were refreshing and delicious, perfect companions to the exquisite sushi.
**Creative Menu:** Asian Vibes offers some intriguing takes on traditional sushi. One such highlight is their sushi wrapped in rice paper, providing a unique texture and flavor profile. The diversity of the menu speaks to the owner’s innovative approach and deep understanding of Asian cuisine. Interestingly, the owner hails from Burma, adding an extra layer of cultural richness to the culinary experience.
**Final Verdict:** Asian Vibes in Kings Beach is hands down one of the best sushi spots in Lake Tahoe. Whether you’re a sushi connoisseur or a casual diner, this place is sure to impress with its outstanding food, exceptional service, and unique menu offerings. ️
