This is a To-Go only restaurant! It’s very tiny inside a tiny grocery store by ocean drive. The two ladies are very nice and helpful. Food is cooked after you order so please walk around the grocery store and do some shopping until your dishes are ready. Highly recommended if you are a Thai food lover. They have pictures of the food inside and also you can ask them to help you make your choice, the staff member are always available for you!

It was a good surprise find this place inside a convenience store ( very clean and organized). The food was incredible good , generous portions and accessible prices. The 2 ladies and the manager of the store very kind and helpfully. Take out orders ONLY. 100% recommended. Definitely we’ll come back again. Our order:
Ocean roll sushi
Thai fried rice with chicken
Pad Thai with shrimp
Pad Prik Pao

Although I’m sure this is a very popular spot, it still seems like we stumbled across a hole in the wall when visiting for the first time. After checking out the menu on the outside, we pulled the door open and were greeted by an Indian man attending to his convenience store … what?!?!

Snack aisles and drink fridges stood where we thought there may have been tables and chairs. Yes, but you look a little past the front and cozied in a corner is an open Thai kitchen with a cook hurling food in their wok and another cashier already passing a menu to you before you’ve even figured out how such place could exist.

Although we were caught up in all of their wonderful food pictures, we mostly went with the usual: pad see ew and pad kra pow. We threw in some fish cakes for a little variety. $5 each for Thai Iced tea and we were quickly up to $64 for one appetizer, two entres, and three drinks. This wouldn’t be too pricey if this place was as good as the reviews say it is.

We sipped on our tea while our eyes darted between cheerio protein bars (who knew?) and our order they we’re crafting in the corner. After not such of a long wait we were out the door with our dishes and headed for a picnic table.

It was time to see if this lived up to our excitement, unfortunately it did not. This is what we came away with:

Strengths:

– fresh ingredients
– quick service. very sanitary, they wear hairnets and masks while making the food.

Two major drawbacks:

1) price – portions were small for the price. I’ve included a picture of my pad kra pow after taking one or two bites, really not enough chicken for the $17 price, but having real holy basil was a plus. Maybe they pay a lot in rent for the location and pass this on to customers, but they are located in a convenient store so I’m not so sure about this.

2) not as flavorful as I would like. I try pad kra pow at any Thai restaurant I visit as a baseline test (even during a short trip to Thailand). This ranks middle to low. For this area, pad kra pow is much better at Larb Thai Isan or Bak Bak Burirang.

Overall this place has good reviews and maybe I went on an off day. Unfortunately I will not be going back because I know of better Thai food in the area.

On my first winter getaway to Hollywood about 5 or 6 years ago, I stumbled into a dingy convenience store on A1A at Indiana to grab a lottery ticket, a loser. But the real win was finding a small Thai kitchen in the back. I had only one chance to eat there and I think it was a Pad Krapow – absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients, a large portion. Back in Hollywood a year or two later, I made a beeline for the joint and was met with disappointment – the dumpy store was still there but the kitchen was gone, the grumpy store manager had no idea what became of it.

I’ve been returning to Hollywood each winter and although there are a handful of decent eateries along the beach, several of them Peruvian which kept me fed season after season, and an OK Thai joint not far from Hollywood Circle downtown, but I missed that little nondescript joint that provided me with such a surprisingly, memorable meal.

The story doesn’t end there, and in fact, there’s a happy ending. I was in Hollywood in early December and I popped open Google Maps to see what the dining offerings were and I spotted a new Asian/Thai joint at A1A and Grant Street, housed in of all places, a convenience store. I was headed for some seafood pasta that night (Giorgio’s – YUM!) but did reconn and wandered by the new spot, again, a small kitchen cleaved to a convenience store – a clean one this time. I told of my lost Thai treasure to the women working there, the long gone gem I sorely missed. “That was us!”, they replied. 2025 was due to deliver some good news and it finally did.

Over the next 4 nights I grabbed dinner there 3 times and each meal was excellent. I had Panang Chicken, a huge portion of Chicken Drunken Noodles that provided 2 meals and a sampling of their starters as well: fried calamari twice, curry puffs and the fish cakes – all of them great. The ladies running the kitchen are an absolute delight and rather than order online I walked the few short blocks from my hotel and ordered in-store, just to hang out and talk to them about Thai cuisine (their menu, the Indonesian origins of sambal, etc.) and how business was going for them. They’ve only been open under a year and are trying to establish a larger presence in town. I wish them all the luck and sincerely hope they thrive. I’ll be back to Hollywood in a couple months for some more fun in the sun, sand and surf, and will lean on Asian Thai Express to keep me fed, happy and satisfied.

This place is a hidden gem! Everything is absolutely incredible, the food is so authentic Thai. The people that run it are amazing and beyond kind they offered us gyoza and Thai donuts on the house. Everything was spectacular we will definitely be back.

GET OFF THE BEACHFRONT AND GET FOOD HERE.

After multiple VERY mediocre meals on the oceanfront, wife and I stopped here.

As soon as I realized that this is a hole in the wall Thai spot in a convenience store with a walk-up service window, I knew we had found a gem.

I was right. The curry was EXCELLENT. Literally the best food we had on our weekend trip.

No frills, low overhead, great food.

This awesome little spot inside a convenience store is absolutely

Two wonderful ladies are in charge, taking orders and cooking up a storm. The Tom Kha Gha soup is perfect – fresh mushrooms, tasty broth and tender chicken. The Thai fried rice with tofu is 10/10 – fresh veggies, crispy tofu, and just the right amount of heat.

If you’re in Hollywood, this is a must try for less than $15 per person.

I just went for first time the other night. Hooe I dont get the names wrong, but Eddi and Katy are really nice and helpful. I work on a boat and they made it very easy to order and pickup in a timely manner. Packaged everything up and included all the needed utensils and napkins! The panang curry was really good, Also the tom ka gai soup was delicious. I got a variety of things cause my mate on the boat had never had thai. She loved all of it. We will be back 🙂
