Bare-bones eatery serving straight-up Mexican food, from classic burritos to beef tongue tacos.

This place checks all the boxes. Delicious, affordable, and low-key—yes please! The complimentary salsa, accompanied by chips, is super flavorful and doesn’t hold back on the spice. The charro beans are a real hit, full of flavor. And the burro is fantastic. I’m not sure if they use homemade tortillas but it tastes like it. Oh, and light, delicious horchata!

I love that they serve beef head ( cabeza) but it was very oily. I got a mixed two meat platter . Other meat choice I got was al pastor. Flavors were great. We also got a carne asada plate. The meat was diced up pretty small and grilled with green and red peppers and onions. Very flavorful. The main downside was the chips were out of a bag instead of home made. And the green and red salsas that come with it are very spicy. If the cabeza was less oily and the chips were homemade I would have given the food five stars. Inside the restaurant is a bit dirty . It’s a hole in the wall joint, so I didn’t expect much but it could use some cleaning. Overall the food is good enough to come back to. Also plan to wait a bit for service. There was only one girl working as server, cashier and hostess.

Restaurant smells amazing with the grilled meat and it tastes excellent. We had the pollo and carne asada and both were fabulous. Corn tortillas came out hot and fresh. Great service and great value.

I stopped here because I read great reviews. I ordered a pastor burrito and a limonella aqua fresca. My drink was very good, however the burrito was very dry. I added sauce and toppings to try to help the dryness, but it didn’t work. Also the menu should be made to where it’s easier to read and to highlight popular items in English and Spanish. I would like give to place another shot if I know what to order.

I was really excited to see that they offer beef head (cabeza) on the menu — you don’t find that everywhere! I ordered a mixed two-meat platter with cabeza and al pastor. The flavors were honestly fantastic, super authentic and well-seasoned . The only issue was that the cabeza was a bit too oily for my taste. If it had been slightly leaner, it would have been absolutely perfect.
We also tried the carne asada plate, and that one really impressed me. The meat was chopped into small pieces and grilled with red and green peppers plus onions ️ . It was packed with flavor and cooked just right. You could tell they know how to season their meats.
One downside was the chips — they tasted like they came straight from a bag instead of being freshly made in-house. Also, the red and green salsas were extremely spicy ️ , so be prepared if you’re sensitive to heat!
The restaurant itself is definitely more of a “hole-in-the-wall” spot. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy, but the inside could use a bit more cleaning. Service also took some time since there was only one employee handling everything — serving, cashiering, and hosting. Despite these small drawbacks, the food is flavorful enough that I’d come back again .

I had a great experience at Asadero Norte de Sonora, the Burrito de Al Pastor was extremely flavorful with the lime juice and sides along with the hot salsa. Service was also good and decently fast. Would recommend!

The family and I were in from out of town and wanted a home cooked Mexican meal. This place absolutely hit the spot. Smokey, tasty meat. Had an Asada and Al Pastor Parrillada and left full and satisfied. Love the frijoles Charros. Tasted like a backyard barbecue when the grill is just right. No frills just good homemade food.

Just got off a long flight from the East Coast and was told my the car rental representative to come here. This place did not disappoint. The girls warmly welcomed us and sat us right away. We ordered the whole chicken. This can feed 2-4 people. Everything was delicious! The limonada was tasty and refreshing. If you’re in the area or coming off a flight, make this your first stop. It’s minutes from the airport!

No frills, tiny restaurant with really good pareillada (small table hibachi) with your choice of up to 3 proteins med & large sizes. We bought 3 large with all the options and fed 10 people, come with beans, guac, cucumbers limes & flour or corn tortillas. It’s was really good & the beans were delicious! &&Complimentary chips and salsas (green & red). The horchata and Jamaica were really good too. No alcohol is served here. Service was ok, no real effort in giving the correct drink to person who ordered it but we figured it out. Also had the churro cheesecake my daughter loved it. We paid $160+tip.

We got the pollo asado with rice, beans, and tortillas and I can highly recommend them! Honestly the portions are pretty big. Super friendly staff and clean environment. Wait for the food was not long at all. Only downside is the parking. Small parking lot or you need to park on the street which isn’t much better. Lots of people ordering takeout.
