I rarely ever complain, but this was genuinely one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a very long time. It completely ruined our Valentine’s dinner, and my partner was embarrassed that I even had to send my meal back.

We were first seated near the back, thinking it would be warmer away from the front door, but there was a noticeable draft because the back door was wide open the entire time. We ended up moving tables.

It then took nearly an hour to receive our appetizer. The Carpaccio di Manzo ($25) came with two tiny slivers of bread not even focaccia and there was no smoked eggplant mousse as described. The cheese amounted to one tiny cube cut into a few small pieces. The dish was essentially salt, a bit of lettuce, tomato, and olive oil. Extremely underwhelming for the price and not as advertised.

My main, the Calamarata Profumo di Mare, took over an hour to arrive. It looked like pre made pasta simply reheated and dropped into a bowl with terrible presentation. There were no prawns and no clams as listed just a few very thin, unappealing pieces of squid. I sent it back and didn’t eat while my fiancé finished his meal.

To add to the experience, we had no cutlery and had to grab some ourselves from another table. The music (old Pitbull songs) completely killed any atmosphere they were trying to create.

We were offered 25% off the carpaccio, which felt inadequate given the overall experience. This was incredibly disappointing and not at all what we expected from an Italian restaurant. I have honestly had better pasta at Boston Pizza. I’m so disappointed we chose this place for Valentine’s Day.

While we were there, I started reading more reviews and wish I had done so beforehand since the overall rating looked great at first glance. The staff seemed confused multiple times. For example, when recommending the steak on the Valentine’s menu as the most popular option, our server could not explain what it came with. I asked if we could order from the regular menu and was told yes, but that they might not have everything available. It very much felt like they were pushing the $70 per person Valentine’s set menu, which we thankfully did not choose given how overpriced and underwhelming the options appeared, including a Caesar salad as one of the appetizers.

It was not very busy, yet service was disorganized. No complimentary focaccia was offered, which I had seen mentioned in other reviews. There was no toilet paper in the washroom, and there was a noticeable smoke smell near the back because the door was left wide open. Leaving the door open like that also raises concerns about cleanliness and the potential for unwanted guests.

Overall, a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

Our party of 4 came to dine here on a Saturday evening and it wasn’t busy, so we managed to get a table quite easily. There are a lot of options on the menu so there’s something for everyone. We ordered the bruschetta which was delicious. I told the waitress to put the pesto on the side since it was made with pine nuts, but the chef made a pesto without nuts so I could have it. The staff was also very flexible with our party’s request, such as adding more variety of vegetables to our salads and one of the pasta dishes. They also made us some fresh fries which wasn’t even on the dinner menu. The mains were satisfying and a good portion size. I would highly recommend the Orecchiette pasta. Such a nice place for a small party.

Tried the new brunch offering. Had the caprese eggs Benedict and lemon ricotta pancakes (more than I could eat but wanted to try them both).
My friend had steak and eggs and also blueberry pancakes.

Best brunch I’ve had in years. The texture, the flavour .. wow! And a beautiful restaurant inside.

This is one of the finest meals I’ve eaten in ages. Burrata, focaccias, pesto, noodles, & sauces all made in house in a traditional Italian style. My companion and I had:
BRUSCHETTA & PASSATA – the burrata here had a wonderful texture and didn’t get all runny when cut open. This tasted fresh and crisp and cool. Felt like inhaling Spring as the snow is melting away.
PACCHERI PICCANTI – substituted rigatoni as they were out of paccheri pasta. The rose sauce was perfectly spiced and nothing beats well made fresh noodles.
TAGLIATELLE PRIMAVERA – nicely salted by the prosciutto crudo with a delicate sauce and tasty house made spinach noodles that were only slightly too thick. Still perfectly made and with the bite only fresh pasta can provide.
Maria provided wonderful service and made us feel right at home.
A perfect meal.

(Group of 2) We showed up and the two people working there got into an argument about where to seat us (the restaurant was practically empty aside from 4 other tables) I had to ask the server for menus before they were given to us. After waiting about half an hour for the server to return to take our order she started the interaction with “I forgot about you” we ordered three items. “Polpette napoletane” as a starter. And then for entrees “Rigatoni panna e prosciutto” and “Gnocchi cipolla”.

From the time we placed our order it took 45 minutes for the meatballs to arrive, and another 30 before the entrees were served. Another table that was seated after us had received their entrees around the same time we got our starter, and when we were about to give up and leave without the entrees we were told that they had to make the gnocchi fresh and that it would be ready shortly.

The starter meatballs flavour wasn’t horrible, but it didn’t come with the focaccia that was supposed to be with it.

The rigatoni was completely undercooked and raw. The “prosciutto” was breakfast ham steaks that were just cut up into squares and had a sour taste. There was hardly any sauce and had absolutely no flavour. The “sauce” just tasted like heavy cream with a bit of black pepper in it and was left as more of a liquid than an actual sauce.

The Gnocchi when it finally arrived was mushy and felt like playdoh. The sauce was identical to the rigatoni dish despite supposed to being completely different. The guanciale was also just cut up breakfast ham steaks that were also sour, and there was no caramelized sweet onions, or any hint of a balsamic reduction or rosemary.

When all of this was brought up with our server the only thing they were able to say was “I can give you guys a gift card for next time you come back” and then still charged us full prices for the 3 very disappointing dishes.

Overall the new owners/ management have turned what used to be a great and authentic Italian restaurant into an awful dining experience. I wouldn’t not recommend going there anymore and will not be returning, which is sad because it used to be the go to restaurant in New Westminster and now it is the opposite.

Had a great experience having Italian food – Chicken Pasta with mushrooms and spicy sauce customised to our taste and liking was really yummy.

I loved their presentation and quantity of food was sufficient. Ambience of the restaurant was good and their server Gabriella was so generous and polite.

I went to Artusi with my girlfriend for her birthday, and it was such a beautiful experience. They recognized the occasion in a very thoughtful way, which made the night feel even more special.

The food was divine. We loved the bruschetta and the gnocchi, both full of flavor and perfectly prepared. There’s also a great variety of wines to choose from, which made the dinner even better.

The service was outstanding. The team truly made sure we were having a great time and took care of every detail. The restaurant itself is super cozy, with an excellent atmosphere to relax and enjoy the evening.

We had an amazing time. Highly recommend it.
