We went for lunch, everything was delicious! The service was amazing!! Arturo’s has service down!! Shout out to Gilbert!! He was amazing! You get so much bad service when you go out anymore, at Arturo’s they have it going on! Definitely go, the lunch menu is 10.95 and the selection is great! Will definitely go back! Hope to get Gilbert again!! The salsa Verde is so tasty!!

Very nice place to have dinner. The bacon on the dish was not cooked enough. Waiter did not ask if we would like any dessert. He was pleasant. The fried food was a bit greasy. Onion rings were perfect. Tacos perfect.

From the moment we walked in to the minute we left everything was excellent. Cynthia, our waitress welcomed us with a smile and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The temperature of the food was perfect and the flavor was impeccable. We have never had such a tasty salmon. Dessert was delicious. Would give ten stars if possible. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. The ambiance was elegant and ?. The service was friendly and efficient. The steaks we ordered were made perfectly with an amazing favor. The night we were there a trio band was performing, they did a great job. They played a bit of different genres and made our stay very enjoyable.

So much more than we expected! We were a group of 13 on a mission trip to paint a church. We asked one of the church members where to eat and she recommended Arturo’s, which ended up being walking distance from our hotel. So after a day of painting, we walked in dirty wearing paint spattered clothes, not realizing how nice this place is. No reservation. Another large group was also arriving. The host greeted us courteously and managed to seat us within five-10 minutes while they put tables together. Excellent service (they work as a team) and very good food made it a great experience. The only disappointing item was the flan.
People watchers would love this place-so many large groups were celebrating special occasions (including a bridal party with an absolutely beautiful bride).

Disappointment in more ways than one. First of all, after work, still dressed in work clothes, I was not acknowledged when I first walked in. The gentleman at the counter was just listening to an older gentleman talk. He never greeted me or anything. He finally asked me “Can I help you?”. Not very welcoming and cold. I was planning on ordering the “Pollo Cilantro” to go but when I did order the item, he said, “To go right?”. I didn’t know it was a crime to come in work clothes (uniform). I saw “Snow Birds/Winter Texans” in shorts and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t insinuated they’d be taking out. I ordered and got my ($16.24) plate and the serving? Disappointing as well. I have had their cat fish plate and it did not disappoint but the service and portion today? Not impressed . Came to visit family here in Weslaco and next time, will visit Costa Messa once it’s opened. Shared my experience with family and they advised me they no longer dine at Arturo’s. Why? During their last visit, they were not acknowledged when they had arrived FIRST but attention was placed to another party (who were Caucasian).

We are a couple from the Netherlands and spend our winters over 20 years in Mercedes TX. We have never visited Arturos before, yesterday we were invited by friends to have diner there. It is a must go! The food is excelent as is the service. It is a bit pricier then other restaurants but surely worth it! We’ll go there again.

I’ve been coming to Arturo’s since I was a kid – early on in Progresso and in recent decades to this one in Weslaco. Such an institution and all-round excellent place for classic Mexican fare that has more than stood the test of time, making it one of my first stops whenever I return to the Valley. All the food is great, but a few of my favorites are the special Mexican plate for a nice sampler of Tex-Mex dishes, the cabrito which you don’t see at many places, and the Tampiqueno plate. Also, their avocado pico de gallo with corn tortillas is a must! We order two bowls every time we come. It is so good! With a bar area situated next to the dining area, the place can get lively, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when they have a band, so depending on whether that’s what you’re looking for, something to keep in mind.
