Overall, I’m not sure I’d return here. I have driven past it hundreds of times over the years and last night was my first visit. We were there for an event, but that was a whole separate debacle. I did find it incredibly strange that the young lady working at the door couldn’t tell us anything about any of the bands performing (like any of their names), I would think that they’d give her some kind of set list or schedule?

We arrived when most people were already watching the show, and decided to order while we were waiting for the headliner to start (we had about 2 hours to wait at that point). The bartender was also serving tables like ours, we were quite patient. Our plates (a few apps and a fried chicken sandwich) took nearly an hour to come out and arrived separately, about 15 minutes apart, appetizers and meal arriving all at once. it’s not clear if the server had not put the order in, or the kitchen messes up, but either way it was an insanely long wait for mediocre food.

The potachos were fine. They arrived on the cold side but tasted OK, though we were struggling to find where all the cheese sauce was hidden. The fried pickles might have been the highlight of the meal, and they were also just fine- not the best, not the worst, nothing to write home about. The chicken quesadilla tasted OK, but we had to pack it up to bring home bc it arrived when we needed to go into the show. It was pretty decent reheating it at home in an air fryer. I didn’t try the chicken sandwich but when I asked my friend about it she said the roll was cold (and very much NOT a potato roll) and the sandwich “tasted like wet” but had little to no flavor or seasoning.

Maybe this was an off night. Maybe this is just how food is here. We didn’t bother talking to management. The server was clearly slammed, but it was very disappointing that she hadn’t checked on our food arriving to us for nearly an hour before promising it was on its way out. As often as I pass this place, I’m still not sure I’d give it another go.

I’ve been to Artie’s a few times now and I’ve always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The staff are very polite and the service times are just right. Had enough time in between our appetizers being brought out and our main course, which I always appreciate. I highly recommend.

Pros: Parking was easy, even during a concert. Staff was friendly, in the “Jersey” way. Plenty of space . They have a lot of room in and outside. I had the classic burger and it was cooked just right. Drinks on tap were good . I had the Mango. Looked to have a decent selection of liquor. Mostly table top seating. Cool long outside bar . Great set up for small concerts. $20 for an Alien Ant Farm concert with 3 opening bands was a steal. Loved it. Was cool seeing the opening bands join the crowd when they were done. They had a little pool table area. They also had an inside bar near the inside stage as well . Prices were fair. And Menu had good selection.

Cons: feels a bit out in the middle of nowhere, so nothing else around to go to nearby. But I kind of like that . They ran out of food/ appetizers pretty quick though out night , so order early. They probably didn’t prep well enough for that night. Bathrooms are typical bar condition bathrooms. I don’t mind table top seating but may not be for everyone. The one bathroom near the main bar is single use , so could get a line built up. Use the other one in the second room if so. Don’t expect food to come out quick, can take awhile even when ordering early.

All and all I would still recommend coming here for a bar / concert experience. It was my first for a small venue and liked it. I even drove up 1 and half hour up to see them from South Jersey area. I left pix to check out.

I’m Beef and that’s where I was.

This place is awesome! We had a great time performing here on the indoor stage. Great production. Friendly staff, clean restrooms and beautiful back deck/outdoor stage.
We had the pizza and it was some of the most amazing tasting pizza I’ve had in a long time. It must be fire/oven roasted because the dough had an incredible smoke flavor. If your into spicy then the Buffalo wing sauce with fresh mozzarella. MESSER approved!!

Although we haven’t eaten at Artie’s, we’ll try the food at some point. This review pertains to the live music. Artie’s is AWESOME!! We’ve seen two shows recently, one inside and one outside. Both are great for music. We especially like the outdoor stage as there’s more space. The bar’s (both indoor and outdoor) are setup very well. They’re roped off where you wait in line. This eliminates trying to get a bartender’s attention as well as reaching over people who camp out there. The outdoor venue has a Stone Pony Summer Stage feel and is incredible. Artie’s books some incredible acts too. We recently saw Powerman5000 and Reverend Horton Heat. I highly recommend a visit!!

The bands here are just terrible. Just saw Tragedy and they were actually ok but not worth the money it costed over $30 a ticket. Way too much to be charging for bands. These cover charges are astronomical in a time like this. No one has money to spend. They charge for crappy bands like Liqud Garden and others that aren’t even tribute bands. No idea why. They were off key and sounded bad. It was First time here and it’s going to be the last time unless they offer better bands to customers with No Cover Charges $30 +. We want to enjoy some good music and atmosphere and be able to grab a bite to eat less than $100 +for the night. . Totally disappointed.

Was at Arties for Mothers Day. The place had awesome food and the staff was excellant. All I can say is kudos to the chef for making some really tasty meal. You may think they just serve bar food, but the quality and taste is as good as any top restaurant out there.

Stopped in for lunch during a weekday with a few friends. Establishment is your typical local joint, “where everyone knows your name”. Place is easy to find, clean, has good service, and friendly. Food is good, priced right, and drinks are cold! If in Frenchtown and you are looking for a local vibe, then this is your spot.
