Authentic tex-mex. Attentive, friendly staff. Great prices. What more can you ask for?
With the NTX growth, things change, sometimes negatively. Not Arroyos. Consistency, great tasting food, family owned. Support your local, small bsunsiness. Arroyo is amazing

We ordered the mushroom fajitas and the Birria taco plate and they were both excellent. The fajitas came out sizzling, the meat was soft and the mushrooms were delicious. The Birria tacos were nice and crunchy as well, my only complaint would be that I want more consomé to go with the tacos. This was our first visit but definitely will be returning!
Service was fast and helpful and atmosphere was great.

Their customer service is top notch. I’ve eaten in and grabbed to go, both times my experience has been great.
Employees are always friendly and knowledgeable, they seem to be happy to help.
I wish I remembered our waitress name, Hispanic young lady, super sweet and well mannered.
It’s March 8th, Saturday @4:55 whoever is handling to go orders has the bestest attitude ever! He deserves a raise for sure :p
Salads are delish, the chips could be a little thicker but they pair very well with the queso.
Everything was great. Friendly, family atmosphere too.

We moved to Gunter 2 years ago from south Texas and have been looking for GOOD mexican food ever since. It’s safe to say we found our new favorite! There wasn’t a single thing served that we didn’t love! We will absolutely be back!

Great place to eat and they have discounts on tacos (Tuesdays). Manager and staff are amazing. They also give you queso with chips prior to your meal.

We usually go here every Tuesday, I sent my child in to buy 3 tacos she stayed in until she got bored came out and got in The car to wait we are there now for at least 45 minutes. I wonder to myself what is taking so long after my child went in for the second time I go in and my child is sitting dead in their face and they are not acknowledging her at all so I come in and say where is my food we have been waiting for 45 minutes. They hadn’t even started on my child’s plate. They were catering to a table 2 different tables at that mind use these people got here after me and my child never going back disgusted! Lost a good customer weirdos

A big find in a small town. My wife and I were happy to come across Arroyo’s — right off the square. It isn’t fancy by any means, but the atmosphere is excellent. If you’ve ever eaten at a small Mexican restaurant in south Texas along the border, or even in Mexico… this place reminded me of that. There was random decor, lights, wood floors, colors, and many features that make this place just a bit more authentic than what you’d find in the city.
Our waitress was excellent. She was a young lady who was pleasant, gave us great menu advice, kept our drink glasses full, and brought us refills on our chips, salsa, and queso. And oh yes… free queso with the chips! Huge bonus!
My wife cannot have corn or wheat, so she was served shredded chicken tacos without the shells. It was very tasty when you mixed in the salsa, rice, and beans. I got the trio with a beef taco, beef enchilada, and chicken enchilada – double rice, no beans.
Was this the best Mexican food I’ve ever had? No. But, it was excellent and full of flavor. It was done well and plated well. It was a great meal and 100% worth coming back for. The best way for me to put it is, the food exceeded the size of the town. It was a more authentic Mexican / Tex-Mex meal than any of the chain places in the city.

This is a great place to get authentic Mexican food! The enchiladas are outstanding and the chili relleno is a home run. The service is outstanding every time and leaving satisfied is not an option. If you are in the area and looking for authentic, do yourself a favor and take your business to Arroyo’s! You won’t be disappointed.

UNFORTUNATE UPDATE: We have been frequent customers since moving to the area and today was the worst experience we have encountered so I’m doing a review update as we’ve noticed a few declining things over the past year from constantly greasy floors, where it’s dangerous to walk on; to the horrible customer service we encountered today when trying to eat lunch, and not due to a new employee but the usual employees which makes it worse. We already know we are some of the highest tipping customers that frequent the shop but those days are over. My wife and I sat and received chips and salsa but we waited for over 20 minutes without anymore service at all so decided to walk out.
It’s painful as what I believe to be the female assistant manager, who is usually our favorite for service did nothing for us today.
I’d hate to say it but we are moving and were planning on still coming here but those days are over. Since service and cleanliness are a thing of the past, we will also be a thing of the past.
UPDATE: I’ve been back several times since this original review visit and it’s LEGIT; So. Damn. Good.
Let me talk to you about Arroyo’s…
WOW! The absolute best street tacos I’ve had North of Dallas period. When we arrived we were given two different salsas and queso which is a rarity.
The salsas were incredible. Fresh tomatoes and ingredients and the sauce was a gorgeous red. So good!
The sauces, green and red spicy are some of the best I’ve ever had. The red has the perfect amount of spice that is truly remarkable.
My wife decided to try multiple street tacos carnitas, chicken, Barbacoa, and fajita, while I tried 5 fajita steak tacos.
My wife doesn’t care much for carnitas and LOVED it here as well as everything else. I tried a bit of her barbacoa and it was amazing. Tender, juicy and perfect.
My fajita tacos were phenomenal. I’m sitting here typing this with a massive smile on my face.
Will we be back? Lol, of course. We will work this into a weekly stop, that’s how amazing this place is. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Highly recommend.

5-29-2022, Sun, around 1PM: It was the only Mexican food restaurant open on Sunday – I’m glad, since it not only satisfied my craving for real homemade Mexican food, it forced me to go here and learn this restaurant is worth returning to! Amazing customer service! The petite young girl taking our order (long curly hair) was so kind and hospitable. It looked busy, maybe after lunch rush. Some tables were not bussed yet, and several tables had people at them. I ordered a ground beef chimichanga, double-beans, no rice, and also a 2-chicken enchilada meal with double beans, no rice. Both were amazing. The sour cream on top of the chimichanga must have been home made – Delicious!!! The refried beans definitely homemade – great flavor! Both orders were to-go. Came with bag of tortilla chips and some queso (also delicious!) I’ll definitely be back. Great food! Great service!
