Make sure you book in advance so you don’t miss out. I managed to time my visit perfectly and snuck a table for 1 in before the dinner rush. Understandably a very busy wee place, having only been open a month and being the talk of the town. On a sunny day, the beach views from the conservatory are quite impressive. Ian is very friendly and accommodating, and is clearly passionate about the quality of the food he was serving. Everything is made fresh that day, and the spring rolls had been made only an hour prior so were delicious. Tastiest Thai in town.

Second time to Arran Simply Thai in a week! This is an amazing beach front location restaurant serving authentic Thai food in one of the most stunning places in Scotland.
Book early to avoid disappointment.
Service here is absolutely amazing and it’s BYOB which means you can enjoy your favourite wine with first class Thai cuisine in one of the most beautiful locations on the island.
A must for anyone visiting Whiting Bay/ Arran.
Thank you for another brilliant night!

Me and my husband after a lovely walk up the Smiddy Brae over the cart road and down along the beach, we decided to go here to see if they did walk-ins, which they did.. On arrival the place has a cosy warm and welcoming vibe to it and we were given a table in the back which is a conservatory area..we were provided with a cool glass of iced water almost immediately which was very welcome and needed after our walk. The menu is simple, keeping true you their name and which suits me as I tend to get overwhelmed when there is a huge menu to chose from..it met our needs..we ordered the combo starter to share and the beef and prawn for our mains…the combo starter was amazing..the satay sauce was the stand out od the starter and I made sure I ate all of it..the mains on arrival were exceptional looking and equally exceptional in taste..i had the prawn dish and my husband had the beef..we ate the lot..the owners were very friendly and attentive to ensure we were enjoying our food and and delighted with our feedback. They are only open Thursdays to Sunday. You can all get a takeaway but only if orders are in before 3pm when open..I would recommend this place to sit and eat in tho. with the beautiful beach with local wildlife to entertain you and the Ayrshire coast across the Firth of Clyde views. They don’t sell alcoholic drinks but charge a corkage fee of £5 per bottle which is fair considering what a bottle of wine costs in most other establishments around the island..so it works out quite cheap if you chose to BYOB. Arran Simply Thai Thank you so much for giving us an amazing Thai food experience..you are doing a fantastic job providing an amazing Thai food experience in all places in Arran.

First time coming here (4/5/25) since it opened. Bring your own booze, otherwise, they do have soft drinks available in 500ml cans. This place is dog friendly which is also why it’s appealing to us as we have a small sausage dog, we booked at table for 1830 and it was already busy, we sat at the front by the toilets as we had a dog. Service was abit slow which is understandable as it was quite busy. It is a small menu and portions do feel small to me, but I did feel full. To start we had the sharing combo set (didn’t take a photo unfortunately) but it came with two veg spring rolls, two chicken satay and two crispy “pancakes” (which is more of a popadum that has a light crunch and is has minor sweetness), along with peanut sauce and sweet chilli sauce. For £8.50 it is very reasonable priced, but feel portions could be more for two people. For mains we had Gaeng Panaeng Neu (Beef) & Gaeng Panaeng Gai (chicken) both come with a side of a cucumber & red chilli salad and a dish of jasmine rice. Once again small portions but seem to fill me up. The chicken and beef both tasted nice. I brought a beer in, and wife had a can of pop and I have a can of pop with my meal. The person serving us was very friendly and chatty. Very reasonably priced, with a nice and relax environment. Highly recommended and definitely book in advance. They do takeouts as well. If you don’t come with a dog, then you can enjoy the views Whiting bay in the conservatory whilst enjoying your food.

What a wonderful place. The tastiest green Thai curry I’ve had. The staff were friendly and the setting is amazing. Booking definitely advised and well in advance if you’d like a table with the incredible view.

Love this place! So so glad there’s the sit in restaurant now, only 30 mins from where we stay. We shared a combo to start, then the pork and beef curries. Both delicious, left us trying to brain how we could have another meal before we head back to the mainland!

A group of 10 of us ate here last night. Small range of starters and mains but I think between us we had most of them, and everyone felt it was excellent. The food is tasty and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, we were sitting in the main area and the conservatory area at the back looked good too. No licence but you can take your own (corkage fee payable). Would recommend a visit – we will definitely be booking again the next time we visit Arran.

Wonderful Thai restaurant serving freshly made food, run by lovely couple. They used to operate from the pop up trailer that appeared at village halls, then just by the village hall at Kildonan. Still the same great food, definitely worth a visit, and the new location has a conservatory with lovely sea views.

First time visiting today, walked in off street and was made very welcome even with our dog, Ian was lovely , explained the menu to us as my husband doesn’t like too spicy food, Ian recommended a few dishes that would suit husbands taste.
Food arrived swiftly and well presented, absolutely loved our experience and left very satisfied.

It doesn’t look much but Arran Simply Thai does the best Thai food I have ever tasted. Go there if you’re on Arran. It’s in Kildonan. I’m just thinking…. okay so the train from Glasgow to Ardossan is about an hour, so is the ferry, then the bus from Brodick to Kildonan is another half hour…. two and a half hours – it would be worth it 🙂
