Welcome to Aroy Thai — Modern Thai Cuisine in the heart of Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. For years, Mui poured her heart into making Aroy Thai a home from home for the Clacton community. When the time came for her to move on, she entrusted the restaurant to a fellow Thai chef whose culinary journey began in the kitchens of Phuket and Koh Samui, Thailand, with over twenty years of hospitality experience here in the UK. Re-opening this April, Aroy Thai stays true to its roots whilst embracing modern Thai cuisine. Enjoy freshly prepared Pad Thai, Massaman curry, green curry, Tom Yum and creative new dishes alongside the classics you know and love. The heart and soul of Aroy Thai remains. Very friendly welcome with swift attentive service. Relaxed, informal atmosphere. Good choice of drinks, with comprehensive menu including ample vegetarian options including some very tasty tofu dishes. Easy walk from seafront and well worth a visit when you’re in town.

It was our first visit and a real treat. Excellent, friendly service and absolutely delicious food. We ate every scrap and were more than happy with the price. It was our first visit to Clacton and our meal here made it very special. We would come again on our next visit to Clacton. Highly recommended.

Apart from the soup, other dishes are fine.

The tom yam is way too sour that it covered the spicy flavor. The coconut soup is not creamy enough. However, the squid is quite crispy and fresh. The main dishes are okay in taste and in good portion.
