Using the word good for this Thai place honestly doesn’t do it justice, this spot is absolutely exceptional. Everything from the food to the drinks is amazing, but what truly sets this place apart is the people.

The food is authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The chicken rice is a must-try, especially the grilled chicken, perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with real Thai flavors. Every dish I’ve had here has been consistently delicious and never disappointing.

The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They treat you like family from the moment you walk in, which makes the experience even more special. You can really feel the warmth and passion they have for both the food and their customers.

This is the kind of place you keep coming back to, not just for the food but for the whole experience. If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, great drinks, and genuine hospitality, this place is an absolute must. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hands down the best chicken rice I’ve had in the U.S.—and easily one of the top 3 spots for truly authentic Thai food in Seattle.! Can’t believe I didn’t know about this restaurant sooner! And you know it’s good when there’s always a big Thai family dining in

The chicken is perfection: juicy, rich, and fatty in exactly the right ratio, packed with flavor in every bite. The sauces are the real deal—deep, balanced, and unmistakably authentic. You can taste the care and tradition behind them. And the rice? Fragrant, fluffy, and crave-worthy. My absolute favorite is the garlic fried rice!

What really seals it for me is the consistency. I’ve been back multiple times, and every visit hits the same high standard. Huge portions, great price to ratio, tons of customization, and everything comes out fast despite how busy they get.

Expect a line during rush hour but it’s 100% worth it. The service is excellent, attentive, and warm, and the owners are some of the sweetest people you’ll meet – especially Patty ❤️. They genuinely engage with you, offer thoughtful recommendations, and make you feel so welcome.

Must-orders:

Steamed & grilled chicken rice combo

Chicken tendons (don’t skip these)

Seasonal tom yum noodle soup

And save room for dessert—fun, not overly sweet, and so good

Pro tip: get the Thai ice cream

This place is special. If you love real Thai flavors done right, this is a must-visit. Super, super recommended .

Aroy Mak is a very authentic Thai restaurant and uniquely has khao man gai, gai tod, and gai yang on their menu. I haven’t seen any other Thai places nearby with these chicken dishes. The prices are on the higher end for local Thai restaurants, so I tried to stick with their more unique entrees instead of the standard curry and noodle dishes for my takeout order.

I got the Combo Khao Man Gai + Gai Yang because I wanted to try as many of their chicken dishes as I could without ordering them separately. I should have added an order of gai tod to compare the combo against an individual order. The 2 different flavors of sauces which come with the chicken are addicting! I could dump those on plain rice and just eat that.

I was extremely hungry and felt there wasn’t enough chicken in the combo to share with another person unless I ordered other dishes for both of us. The $3 difference between combo and single orders doesn’t seem to add up, but I’ll be able to confirm it next time if I order just one chicken entree to compare. The small winter melon soup which comes with the chicken is very basic, but tasty and also rare to find in restaurants in the area. I’ve only seen and had a larger version of it on a past special menu at Secret Savory.

I also ordered my first tom kha here. The ingredients list said it’s chicken thigh, but the texture wasn’t what I expected. It was more like the kind of chicken they use in fast casual Thai restaurants in the area. I was hoping they used the same kind as their Hainanese chicken – something smoother. I don’t know why there’s so much galangal and lemongrass left in the soup (maybe that’s just how all tom khas are?), but I prefer them to be left out when served, so I don’t have to strain and pick around them.

The food was very good, and the staff were genuinely kind and welcoming. The restaurant is on the smaller side and clearly very popular, with many people waiting, which is great to see because they truly deserve the attention. That said, we did feel a bit rushed, as different staff members came by several times while we were still eating. Because of this, I ended up getting my dessert to go instead of enjoying it there. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot with great food and service, and I just hope that in the future guests can be given a little more time to fully enjoy their meals.

Aroy Mak in Seattle has quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots, and every visit reminds me why. The food here is amazingly good — consistently flavorful, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with care. Their menu is wide enough that anyone can find something they love, and the monthly specials always look incredible. You can tell the kitchen puts real thought into crafting dishes that are both creative and comforting.

The chicken, though, is the star for me. It’s cooked perfectly every time — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The sauces are unbelievably delicious and you can taste that they’re homemade. They strike that perfect balance of depth, spice, and sweetness that keeps you wanting more. We almost always order the chicken combination plates because they never miss, but every time I’m tempted by those specials. Next time, I’m finally branching out.

Beyond the great food, the experience is made even better by the owner. She is incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming — always greeting customers with the biggest smile. It’s the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you feel like you’re walking into a friend’s home rather than a restaurant.

Aroy Mak is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough.

Lo
Super yummy Thai food! We ordered the chicken combo over rice with soup — some of us swapped the rice for noodles. The best combo, hands down, was the grilled and fried chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly — tender, crispy, and flavorful. The sauces were amazing, and they even had chili powder for anyone who likes an extra kick. The melon soup was light and refreshing.

We also shared the corn fritters, which came in a large portion and were perfectly crunchy with bits of taro mixed in. For dessert, we had the pandan sticky rice with coconut cream — it was aromatic, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious.

Everything from the service to the food was amazing. I can’t wait to come back!

I’ve heard people talking about this restaurant for long time. It was really good as they said. The owner was really friendly and helpful. I ordered combo chicken, Chinese broccoli, green beans and their special Singapore chicken dish. Everything was perfect!! 100/10 Me and my mom so full but we wanna try Mango Ice Cream with sticky rice. Omg it was SO goodddd.

This place doesn’t deserve five stars … it deserves TEN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

…absolutely love this spot. I usually get the steam chicken and the fried chicken combo. The fried chicken is never dry and the sauces are the perfect compliment!

The staff is always friendly, quick and the owner is super nice, which makes the experience even better. It can get busy during dinner time and parking can be a bit tough then too, but honestly, it’s worth the wait.

I can’t recommend this place enough — you have to try it. Delicious food and great service!

The most authentic Thai food I have ever had!
I’ve never ordered these chicken and rice dishes before, I usually order the typical pad Thai, pad see ew, etc. This experience has definitely changed my mind towards eating more Hainan chicken!! We also loved the soup and sauces that came with the combo. We ordered one of everything: the grilled & steamed chicken with rice + the fried chicken with egg noodles. All were so succulent and flavorful

The space itself was clean and warm, especially with the colorful murals and Halloween decorations. The hostess that served us (we think maybe the owner), provided the best service we’ve ever experienced. She gave solid recommendations and a dessert on the house. Eating here truly felt like a home cooked meal.

Highly recommend if you’re looking to try new and delicious Thai dishes.

I had a fantastic time taking my family out for dinner here! It was a first time, but the hostess made us feel right at home.

The chicken rice was soft and savory and the fried chicken version (Khao man gai tod) was juicy and crispy on the outside. The menu gives you so many options to choose from too. However, we really enjoyed the dessert for the unique taste and the amount of variety served with the mango ice cream dessert.

Hats off to Patty (sp?), who remembered my name as we finished our meal and gave us the recommendations for desserts. She was one of the best hostesses I’ve seen to handle the line and everyone’s order.

They have an excellent system of taking orders when you’re about to be called in line so you’re not waiting for food when you sit down. It almost comes out immediately! I feel like more restaurants should do this.

We’ll definitely come back!
