We started with Babyback Ribs, and they were almost room temperature. They were tender, but super sweet, like syrup.
My Fish-N-Chips were bland. The fish and tartar sauce were tasteless. The carbonara was also just okay.
I have no idea how this place has so many stars. I came here starving and left feeling even worse than when I arrived.

I love these diners. I’m a sucker for them. I come from a state that doesn’t really have many so this was a real special treat. The shake that I had was something else. I hadn’t had a great shake like that since I was a young kid. I can’t wait to come back just for those shakes. I need more.

Went for breakfast, and for $9.25 I got two eggs potatoes and rye toast. The food came out fast but the food was very underwhelming. The potatoes were soft and barely brown from the grittle. The server was pushing us to leave and take our plates before we were even done. It’s not like it was crowded and people waiting for tables. I will think twice before making a second visit there when there are so many other options in the area.

My server was very attentive. She listened to what I wanted and I didn’t even feel rushed. I had a horrible day. I needed to take my mind off a few things. I was able to treat myself out and feel full and satisfied. Thank you so much. This is what was left off my plate. P.P. I was also left too. Had a great dinner after a workout too. Arlington Diner definitely nails the vibe. From the outside, it has that cool, retro diner feel… the kind of place that makes you think, “Okay, this could be good.” Inside, it wasn’t busy (maybe we hit a quiet window). Still cute with small cocktail bar and a a dessert counter.
The menu is massive. I mean — if you can think of it, it’s probably on there. French fries in every variation imaginable, soups, salads, burgers, seafood, pasta, sandwiches, and then the dessert case. The cakes and pies looked legitimately impressive. One of our guests took some home, and honestly, that might’ve been the MVP move of the night.
Service was friendly — very friendly. Our waitress gave thoughtful recommendations and little insider tips, which I always appreciate. That said, service was a touch forgetful. My gluten-free sandwich request of no bread… still arrived with bread, and the club soda had a brief identity crisis before showing up on the 2nd request. Nothing dramatic — just small lapses that kept it from feeling polished.
Overall, the food was okay. Service was friendly. Vibe was diner cute. And, think the bar and dessert options were standout.
I’d land at about a 3.5 out of 5. Better than average, not quite a 4 but not deserving of a 3 in my book so ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it is — but worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Great place to go if you want to enjoy a good meal. You can go for something comfortable as chicken and fries or for something more adventurous like cordon blue chicken or steak with shrimp! They also got a great and classic selection of desserts and cocktails with my favorite being the peach cooler. Definetily recomended to go with family or partner or to treat youself after a long day. Also, service is pretty good staff is kind and attentive that really adds up to the experience.

On Monday, April 14th, 2025, my best friend and I visited Arlington Diner (1 River Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031) and had a great time! Arriving at 8:30 p.m., we got first-hand experience of the neon signage that can be seen from afar. There is significant parking, both in the front and back of the diner. Entering the diner, you will be met with beautiful red and purple neon lights around the walls, a single-seating bar, a drink bar, dessert showcases, and a multitude of brown and red booths that have jukeboxes at every table! The diner was significantly packed upon entrance, but our food still arrived at 9:00 p.m., about 30 minutes after we sat. The server we had the pleasure of meeting made our experience ten times better! Even though my best friend and I are indecisive when it comes to choosing what to eat, our server was extremely patient, friendly, and even gave us specific suggestions on what we should try. The server, along with other servers and staff, all greeted us and engaged in conversations, making the atmosphere feel very welcoming and at home. We decided to order the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and the Tex Mex Panini, splitting both of our orders to accommodate our indecisiveness. Even though I wish the chicken in the wrap was a bit more crispy, both were delicious! Afterward, we decided to try their famous cheesecakes, and I can say that I definitely recommend the chocolate cheesecake! The total came up to $ 21.95, which I believe is worth giving a try!

I ordered their “world famous” cheesecake – and they had a large selection with strawberries, peach, bananas, I can’t even remember them all. I had mine as an entrée (with a side of Texas Taters!). Yum!!
