First time visitor. This place was excellent! Food tasted like it was cooked at home by family. We ordered a couple of arepas and a patacón. The owner was very friendly and conversational. You can understand why they’ve been here so many years. I’m looking forward to going back soon.

This is probably the only Venezuelan restaurant I have been to in Florida that serves non mass produced empanadas. Everything here is incredibly fresh and tasty. Prices are great too!

(It is worth the hour drive)

First off, wow! Their food is amazing. They used to be located in Jonesville but now have a home location in Newberry. I absolutely love the fried cheesebread and the steak w/ lettuce. Next time I’ll try it on the tostones. My husband got the pork w/ cabbage on the tostones, which he loved. We will be sure to continue to come back. Maybe next time we’ll try dessert (saw flan in one of the pictures). They’re some hard working people, they got the food out really quick and I got to wait in the comfort of my car.

It’s family owned. The wife works the counter and her husband cooks and prepares the meal. They are very friendly. The food is amazing. I had the tostones (fried plantain) and steak sandwich. It was very tasty and filling.

Update: New location, same great food! They are now at their own location out in Newberry. STILL worth the hike. I’ve eaten everything vegetarian on the menu and I still come back to the green patacon with cheese, lettuce, cabbage, and pink sauce. And the cachapas. And tequenos. And tequecachapas. It’s all so good! Also, the flan. Just go. Try everything. You’ll love it!

This place is consistently amazing. I’m a vegetarian but I hear their meat is also amazing. My favorite are the cachapas, sweet and crunchy plantain patacones. Check it out, they have limited weekend hours, but you will NOT be disappointed. And yes, you are in the right place if your gps took you to a parking lot for a vet clinic and a tree nursery in Jonesville. It may be a hike, but totally worth it. I can’t stop making this part of my Friday after work routine.

The food here is AMAZING! The empanadas are loaded with meat, and the sandwiches are just delicious! I don’t know what else to say but it’s amazing!! It’s great supporting a family run business and the family here are all so kind and helpful with answering questions about the menu! I love looking at their pictures on IG and facebook to help me decide. Everything is absolutely delicious and fresh! Be prepared to wait as they cook everything from scratch but it is sooo worth it!!

I chatted with one of the owners while waiting for my order and liked her immediately. The food, the sirloin area and both the beef and chicken empanadas, were wonderful. Will definitely go back.

Yummy y Rico altogether!
Fist time visit and randomly found (on Google Maps) coming back home to Gainesville from a day in the gulf coast. The tequeños were perfectly portioned and served with that amazing green sauce.

I had the Arepa with Fried Pork and cabbage. The flavors of the pork was really good, even though I personally would have preferred a little less of the pink sauce (it seemed to cover too much of the other good flavors and messy eating). We also tried the Arepa with Cheese and that was perfect especially as a vegetarian option. The sandwich style thinness was a nice alternative to the clumpy traditional ones we have tried at other places.

I will definitely have to go back to try other Arepas. Great find!
