Recommended by the tour guide. As local as possible, in terms of settings, menu and seafood. Seasonal catch, and the signature dried stockfish (cod) is amazing.
One point on the king crab starter though, this is over grilled to the extent that the meat is dried up and stuck on the shells. Seasoning is perfect however.

The food deserves a 4.5⭐️ rating. The seafood is very fresh, and the sauces pair extremely well with the dishes. However, the prices are relatively high. The wine recommended by the server matched the food perfectly, which was a big plus for me. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Tromsø in my opinion, and I would definitely bring friends here again if I have the chance.

Part of the Skarvens group, this restaurant focuses on traditional seafood. Despite dining solo, I was graciously seated at a full table. I ordered the halibut with a glass of white wine.
The halibut was beautifully fresh—tender yet firm, lightly seasoned to let the fish shine. It was served with fresh vegetables, mashed potatoes, and fish roe, making for a well-rounded and satisfying plate. The dish paired harmoniously with the white wine.

Overall, the food looks good but tastes normal. However I speculate the waiter is racism. I am guessing the quality of food is already good enough around the price 600. If I back in time, I rather go to the restaurant with the respect!!!
After we pay for the bill, we immediately calling the uber, just because we are really tired. We are waiting the uber on our seat. However, the waiter is asking us to leave right now. He told us that he wants to preparing for next table. I explained the reason why we stay, but he looks very unhappy and still asking us to leave quickly …..At that time, the restaurant still have lots of empty tables, that can serving for around 10 people.
I checked the email, realise we supposed to have two hours of the table.(Start at 5:30pm and asked to leave at 7:10pm) I post the evidence below, which record the time we paid and the time we left the restaurant.
This is a very unhappy experience, perhaps I am too sensitive but I still speculate that this restaurant has the service with racism.

Food tastes okay, but served very slow. We had the soup for appetizer roughly 40 mins after making our order and it was cold, not sure if that’s what it’s supposed to be. Restaurant wasn’t busy as we came right at opening time, but we waited about 20 mins each time we finished a dish for the next one to be served.

We booked this restaurant by mistake… what a nice mistake! We actually tried booking two days in a row but was fully booked! When we finally made it, we had one starter to share and was perfect for two people to taste the exotic flavors of the local cuisine. About the mains, they couldn’t have been better! Lovely evening with amazing food.
