Reviews
In all honesty, the Arawan Pad Thai wasn’t my favorite. The presentation was gorgeous but I didn’t care for the flavor. My companion really enjoyed the duck red curry, though. Both appetizers were also delicious! I would definitely come back to try other dishes.
Located in commercial center off of East Sahara East of the strip this place is a dining diamond in the rough. The people were friendly service was consistent and the food was very tasty. I had as pictured the mint chicken at a level 5 which the heat did not overshadow any of the subtle flavors at all easily a number seven would have pepped up a bit but just to be safe and I was rewarded with a great tasting dish. With some friends numerous dishes were ordered including one of the ones pictured and a bunch that were not the Thai Tea I wanted to order a picture and just put a garden hose in it it was so tasty. The rice noodle covered prawns / shrimp we’re good as well especially with the plum sauce that it comes with. Also the spring rolls are very clean tasting light wrapped with Greenery topped off with a shrimp the sauce for that was tasty and unique as well.
I do recommend it it’s located near where the old Lotus of Siam was for those who know. Nearer to some work sites so we’ll be going again.
Update: still excellent service and great food
✨️ 2024 Check-in:
Still my favorite Thai restaurant in Vegas. I cannot highly recommend this place enough ❤️
The service was good, and they made the food pretty fast. Prices were fair, and you get a lot for what you pay. Definitely recommend.
A few highlights from our marvelous meal:
1. The ahi tuna larb is an incredible spin on the traditional Thai larb salad, made with wonderfully fresh tuna, bright lime and cilantro, and fresh onions and mint. Definitely recommend.
2. All of the curry dishes were spectacular. Massaman curry was sweet and not too spicy and the fatty short rib was a great complement to the curry. The green curry was spicier, less sweet but full of veggies. The yellow curry was on point too — not too spicy not too sweet.
3. The Arawan pad Thai was special — sweet and savory, fish sauce, lime juice, tender pieces of chicken and shrimp. The egg lattice on top was a great addition as well.
4. OMG that Thai steak salad with fresh mint it was so fresh, zingy and bright. The dressing cut straight through the steak’s fat with was perfectly medium rare. Get this please.
5. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth getting the whole that catfish…do yourself a favor and do it. The outside was insanely crispy but the inside was so soft and tender. None of the slimey taste that sometimes accompanies poorly cooked catfish. The empty plate shows that we really enjoyed that fish…
This was a lot of food! You’d expect us to have been done right? WRONG! We also got all of the desserts on the menu and honestly, that was a wonderful decision. The coconut ice cream, outstanding. The banana crepe was shockingly complex, gooey, soft, sweet, crispy and complemented by the Thai iced tea ice cream. The coconut rice and mango was not too sweet, and absolutely wonderful. The mango ice cream was absolutely the best sorbet that I’ve ever had. This is NOT an exaggeration.
After getting our check (and ceremoniously clapping for and celebrating the chefs), we got four FREE freshly made panna cotta with mango sauce. The pastry chef was literally just testing a new dessert, and it was absolutely perfect. The Panna Cotta was not too sweet and stood up well to the tart mango sauce.
If you are visiting Vegas, you MUST try this place. You will NOT be disappointed. Our trip involved laughs, hugs, smiles, tears, and lifelong memories. Don’t settle for bad food, especially when places like Arawan exist to make incredible food experiences available, just off the Vegas strip. Happy Eating.
Nice little quaint spot in a sketchy looking area (not too much foot traffic and hidden.) But, one of our favorite spots to dine at.
Food:
Idk what it’s called, but it’s the Pad Thai with HUGE prawns.
Fried Fish
Pork Ribs
I can’t remember all the dishes but all were delicious. The flavors are bold (especially the fish sauce.)
I highly recommend this spot for Thai food.
