When the hostess greeted us, she asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and be offered FREE chips and salsa. It was without a doubt an offer we COULD NOT refuse. The service here was terrific, compared to other Applebee’s locations (specifically Hays, KS). The food here was also VERY good including the FREE chips and salsa. Our server (who was also the hostess and bartender) was VERY courteous and attentive. Despite it being game day in Manhattan, it was NOT AT ALL busy. I will definitely come back if/when I’m in Manhattan.

Applebee’s is always family friendly and almost always will have a table free. And the staff is very friendly and fun. I just wish that it didn’t smell like stale mop water/beer at times though. Not the most appetizing when coming to eat.

The wait time was crazy ridiculous. We have been waiting on our food for 30 minutes and have watched 3 tables that have ordered after us get their food. Our order wasn’t complex or time consuming. And the explanation we got was that the kitchen was behind. They were the slowest they have ever been when we have came.

What a fun flashback. I started my 30 plus year career in restaurants here as an expo. Great to see its still going strong. Love the new look inside. Gotta admit I was pretty burned out on Bee’s food after working there forever but it was good to come back.

Just an all around bad evening. From the long wait at the door due to nobody manning the host stand and some server having to get told by the bartender to go seat us and the group in front of us who had been waiting longer, to the relatively new server Danyel who did a great job socially but was struggling to keep up with her section and kept forgetting things, to the almost 35m wait on 2 apps that had a hair on 1 plate that we decided not to complain about and a dessert that had an allergy concern but came out wrong, to getting charged for the incorrect dessert we had been told I could keep for free while a correction was ran out for my wife and having the manager Robin yell at us for disputing it, and then watching manager Robin yell at our server, to also getting charged extra for a sauce substitution that we didn’t debate because by this time we were just tired, shocked and upset. I would have been fired from my own restaurant position if I behaved the same way manager Robin did tonight in front of guests.

I like Applebees normally, but not this one. I had a hell of a Great server in Nick, after that it went down hill, again not his fault. Ordered a Cesar salad, was not romaine, just shredded lettuce. It was drowned in dressing, not a green piece of lettuce in sight! I had the bourbon street chick and shrimp one of my favorite meals back home, it wasn’t my fav here. Too greasy, still it was ok. Sadly, Applebees is a hit or miss with us wherever we go. I def will miss this one if I’m ever in Manhattan again. Me and my daughter travel the country rating food from 1 to 10 with 8-10 reserved for the finest of dishes. Our rating here > 5.0. FAIR. xxx Bill and Em know food

There was not enough staff. Our waitor was by himself in our area. We never saw him after our order. We ordered the 3 cheese penne pasta. It came out in hard chunks.

Exactly like America, Unhealthy, not very good, and loud. I literally saw someone dressed like a cowboy here. One of the menu items has essentially a slur in it, personally I feel there are much better American places within a 5 minute walk

“You get free chips and salsa if you sit at the bar”…. Got chips… after 10min I finally asked if we get salsa with it. There was a max of 15 customers there and I counted 5 waiters. There was casual cursing across the bar from employees. A bartenders boyfriend came in 10 min after us and got drinks right away. I love hangin out at Applebees but not anymore, sadly.

I’m always so excited by visiting Applebee’s Manhattan, being a recent transplant to KS, finding a local place that offers good food and a great atmosphere was key. Wheather I’m just out for a quick meal or heading out for drinks with friends or even needing a quiet booth at 10pm to study Applebees is first on my list. The food is always hot and the service is always friendly. When they say they treat you like family or the neighbor next door its true. Love the staff here the relaxed and accepting attitude here makes me feel at home. Its refreshing and much needed this day in age.
