We were staying in Jacksonville for the night. Applebee’s was convenient to our hotel. It was mid-week and not busy. We were greeted right away, but there was a very funny, unappetizing smell, like dead seafood, permeating the entire place. Other than that, the place seemed clean, though well used. The waitress was nice. We ordered the 2 for $30 6 oz top sirloin dinners. Got our salads right away. Bowls filled to the top with iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, and croutons (house salad). My husband said his tasted like soap. The steaks were tender with good portions of potatoes and fresh broccoli. I had to give an overall of 3 stars due to the bad smell of the place. It did affect my meal a bit. This is my honest review. I’ll also show pics of the menu we had for the last week of June 2023.

I had a hard day and came in for a drink and a quick bite before heading home. The bartender I had, Jesse, noticed something was up so in between her other customers, she would let me talk while she listened. I thought that was so sweet because not too many people care about others nowadays, let alone listen. I felt so much better leaving than when I did coming in.

Ashley is awesome and needs a raise for her amazing outstanding customer service. We receive white glove service each time she is our waitress. We will forever come back for her. She should be promoted as a form of lead how everyone else should provide the level of service that she does.

I had a great late night dinner getting into town here. Service was quick with the menu and beer. I sat at the bar around 9 pm on a Monday. They have a great deal on burgers only on Mondays.

Ashley was wonderful! She was training another lady, and it was humbling seeing her so patient to her new co-worker (who is going to do great). Food was fantastic, and service was too.

My family and I Love coming to Applebee’s in Jacksonville il. We always hope to get Ashley. She is literally the BEST waitress I have ever had Out of any restaurant. Ashley is very sweet kind she has amazing customer service. She checks the table a lot. Always making sure everything is good and thay we have everything we need.

Normally, I love Applebee’s. This particular Applebee’s was a terrible experience. We waited over 10 min at the door just to be seated. There were only 2 other tables. Once seated, it was about another 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. From there it just got worse. It took 45 min to get our food. Our appetizer came out after our meal. Our steaks were overcooked. When we mentioned our issues we were told our server didn’t put in for our appetizers to be served first. Nobody ever really apologized, just seemed to pass blame down. Just all in all a negative experience. If a person is going to pay $120 tab, please make it worth it.

Monday 19th Came in about 2:30pm took about 10 minutes before we got anything to drink the lady came about another 10-15 minutes to take our order. There was only 3 tables in there so they wasn’t busy. We waited 45 minutes and still no food while people that came in after us got their food. The waitress came up to us and said what was your order I never put it in. We said forget it and left. My husband called about 5:30pm to talk to manager and the lady who answered took our name and phone number and said the manager would call us back when they wasn’t busy. No one ever returned our call. The waitress probably never gave the manager our number.
