I am a frequent diner at the Portage Mi Bar and Grille and have never had any complaints or issues.
A large order was placed a week ago and while Kirstin the Manager provided excellent service, there were a couple of small issues with the order.
I contacted Austin the Manager, courteous.
He was sincere and actually thanked me for the feedback.
He then ensured that we would be receiving a gift certificate.
The representative Liz whom took my call on the frontline was also very pleasant.
The world we share is not always kind.
However I am a firm believer that kindness is the Law that Jesus commanded His followers to share.
One small act of kindness has become an enormous gift and for this I wish to share my experience

The closest thing to perfection I’ve ever come across was the day i sat down at this specifics Applebees in February; and came across Maggie. She genuinely redefines what it means to serve. When i serve, i mean make you feel like family. She was on top of the refills, brought PIPING hot chicken tenders, and made sure all of needs were tended to. When it comes to nurturing, looking no further than Maggie. She is the end all be all of what it means to be a an exemplary server. Give this woman a raise asap!

It’s almost as if it just continues to get worse. Our server Ashton never wrote any of our order down and messed it up. He continued to ask me 4 times about our order, my husbands food came out with our appetizer and my meal arrived 15 mins later.

I’ll be honest I’m not a huge fan of chain places, but this is where my mom want to eat for Christmas dinner. The food was OK, but the reason I felt compelled to leave a review was that the service was great. I understand the service industry is overworked, underpaid, etc, etc so when you get a good waitress or waiter, you can’t help but want to acknowledge them. We had a group of around 10 people and the drinks were never empty and the food came out pretty quick.

Worst service ive ever had. Sat at bar for date night with my boyfriend. Gary took care of us (only knew his name because I asked someone else). He didn’t speak to us or acknowledge us. Ordered a margarita and asked him for a salted rim he had an attitude and acted like it was a problem. Gave me salt on like an inch of it. Got our food and mine was cold. I pushed it to the edge and he finally came over to check on us I told him I didn’t want it it was cold, he just took the plate and walked off. Never asked if I wanted anything else. Then came and brought the check before we were even done. We were going to have dessert and another drink but by then we were just done. He never said more than 5 words to us.

Went super late so it wasn’t busy at all. Abby was my waitress and she was great! They were out of the drink I wanted so she gave me super similar drink suggestions that I really liked! I got soup as an appetizer, took a while to come out but Abby kept checking on me so I knew I wasn’t forgot about or anything. Our great loved Applebee’s is falling apart, 5yrs ago service, food, atmosphere, was all fantastic. These past 5 yrs its been going down, with every visit getting more and more disappointed with everything, especially the service and most importantly the food. Nothing more upsetting than taking your family out to eat and all 4 orders are over/under cooked for the prices charged these days

Food was great! This stands out among your generic applebees. Its still low quality food but the staff was nice and the building is well maintained.
The new holland tangerine ipa was amazing! I also got the sizzlin apple pie for my bday and it was amazing!

SERVER is BAD and SLOW with NO ENERGY and PASSION. NO REFILLS and on top of her uniform she is wearing dirty outdoor clothing.
The chicken was SO DRY and had NO FLAVOR and the onions and mushrooms sautee was still crunchy. The steak was WELL DONE when asked for MEDIUM and deep fried shrimp was floppy.
