The Applebee’s in Hixson has such a great location with so much untapped potential, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the surroundings. While the food was average and what you’d expect from the chain, the timing was a bit off as my meal arrived about 10 minutes before my drink ever made it to the table. My server was genuinely nice and friendly, but they seemed quite inattentive and I never received silverware or napkins with my food – which made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It’s a convenient spot, but it could really use more attention to the service basics to match the potential of the location.

My 2 party waited 10 minutes before anyone decided that they were going to acknowledge that we were there after walking by us several times. Then after being seated it was another 15 minutes before the manager was walking by and looked at us and asked has anyone taken our order. Then someone came and took our drink orders of a coke and a sweet tea with lemon (requested twice and never received it). Ten minutes later someone finally came and took our food orders and everything that we ordered they were out of it. We finally decided to just leave as we waited an additional 15 minutes and our food still hadn’t arrived. We will never go there again nor will we recommend anyone else to go there to eat!

The server was very good and brought me multiple refills of my soft drink. He also corrected the wrong side dish for my friend very quickly. It is obvious to me that the restaurant hires good workers and enough of them so that they can provide excellent service. The steak, blackened shrimp, and house salad were all tasty and well made, too.

My experience here was fine overall. I did receive my food with a hair in it initially and had to tell our server. She promptly had the kitchen remake it for me but didn’t really seem apologetic about it or offer some sort of discount or a complimentary anything. Most places often do that. Anyway, the food was okay, about as great as it gets for an Applebee’s.

Sean, my server was very pleasant! The music was upbeat, making the atmosphere very nice! The food was perfect! On the All You Can Eat $15.99 special make sure you read all the choices before you order because you get one protein at a time and they had so many delicious choices!

Was seated quickly and our waiter at first seemed like he would be very attentive. But quickly went down hill. Ordered 2 margaritas when we ordered our meal. The meal took a while to get out but was delicious. But our margaritas didn’t come out until well after we were finished eating. Not sure if they didn’t know how to make the drinks, but they were not good and I gave mine away to my partner to finish. Overall not a good experience.

Definitely a better experience than the last few times. Our waiter Drew was attentive and friendly. The food was good minus the riblets being a little lacking on sauce (the Asian sauce is ). We did get charged for ranch, but at least it was not $0.50 per 1oz serving like last time. Might add it back to my night out with the kiddos again after a 6 month hiatus.

The last 4 times I went I’ve had problems between the service, food or the wait. This last time I went, tonight 10/30/25, I got there at 7pm, ordered about 7:15, and we waited. After a little bit my mom, sister, her husband and my kids got their food and I waited. The waiter said they made it to go and it sat back there and got cold. Then when they brought a fresh plate out I couldn’t eat it cause everyone was done and wanted to pay. When I DID get to eat it, it was at home and it was cold. I was upset cause I was the one out of us who wanted to eat. Overall bad experience for me again.

Wife and grandchildern waited to be seated as i went to the bathroom. They had been seated by the time i came out. We then sat there for 20 minutes without one person checking on us or a drink order. We left went to millers and are already orderd and taken care of Go to millers. Avoid this place. And no they were not busy may have been 10 people in the whole place as it was 2:30 when we left.
