Rather than stopping here off the freeway- go further into SLO for food. This restaurant features dated and somewhat grimy decor, overpriced not great not healthy food and inexperienced slow staff.

We are staying at the hotel and have now had several breakfasts here. The staff are wonderful and very welcoming. One day the yolks on my Benedict were fully cooked, but otherwise the food is excellent. Four kinds of eggs Benedict, strawberry pancakes, and breakfast burritos are among our favorite choices. Ham is like gammon.

It was easy to order without meat and the fresh berries are a treat!

The only negative is the music they play on a loop over and over.

If you’re just craving a good ol’ traditional breakfast, this place hits the spot.
I stayed next door at the Apple Farm Inn, so it was a perfect walk-over. I had the meat ❤️ omelet and it was just right — especially with the extra egg. Nothing fancy, but sometimes you just want the classics done right. Solid breakfast, friendly vibe, no complaints!

Our family has dined at the Apple Farm for over 30 years. If you’re a returning diner, wanting the nostalgic vibe of the 1990’s, you’ll be disappointed. Gone are the gift shop and decor of old. Gone is the extensive menu. When we visited it was in December, and they were just opened for breakfast. If I were rating it on memories, I’d review it much lower. But one can’t hang on to nostalgia. The Apple Farm is in the process of being sold. My observation is that the new owners are in the midst of transition and growing pains. With that being said…

The breakfast menu items were delicious. Our party of 5 found something to enjoy, even those with dietary restrictions. The food was fresh, the coffee good, the prices not unreasonable. The server was working hard to make sure our breakfast experience was good. Service was a bit slow, but we were on vacation and not in any great rush. We would definitely return. And we wish the new crew well.

Worst experience ever! Waited in line for 45 minutes just to get our food with a reservation.
Then they were out of mashed potatoes, salad, stuffing, dessert, gravy and green beans. Waited another 10 minutes in line but still no more was brought out. Sat down to eat what we had. The turkey and Ham were great.
Waited again in line for mashed potatoes and stuffing. But they ran out again before I got up to the food. We spent more time in line than sitting. The lines were all around the dining area where people were eating. So crowded!
We went last year, and it was great and organized perfectly.
This year was a horrible experience and I do not recommend. We will never go again. It was a waste of money and time.

We have been visiting this restaurant for the past few months. It has consistently great food and service. Probably our favorite breakfast/lunch spots in SLO. Natalie has been our server multiple times and she is always outstanding. Other servers great too. Just a wonderful spot. We pick up mini and regular size pies and other pastries on the regular as well

Food was awesome.
Chicken fried steak and eggs were top notch. Some of the best gravy that I ever had.
Apple Fritter Pancakes were very good. The pie filling on top was a bit much, but I took it off and put butter and syrup and it was terrific!!!
Our server Mikai was great. Good personality and very helpful.
We will be back!

Stayed at the hotel it was was amazing. We were looking forward to breakfast at the Apple Farm restaurant having eaten there before. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The eggs on the eggs benedict were cooked improperly (soft boiled), the gravy was not seasoned, the chicken sausage we both ordered was dry and flavorless. My Belgium waffle was no better than an box waffle mix, and I had to ask for butter. Our server was ok, and the host was very pleasant and welcoming. The tables and bathrooms were clean.

I am the first one to give a good review when one is deserved and hemmed and hawed before writing this one. I want to see the restaurant return to its previous glory and reputation, but that can’t happen if the food isn’t good. I want to make it very clear, that the Apple Farm Hotel was great! Lovely very clean rooms. If the restaurant doesn’t improve, the Apple Farm Hotel, should remove the association with the restaurant.

Had breakfast (banana French toast) which was very good. But the service? Horrible! Waited at my table for 15 minutes before someone came over to see if I wanted any water or coffee. Waited another 10 minutes before server came back to take my order. Waited a reasonable amount of time for the order to arrive, but waited another 15 minutes after finishing before server asked if there was anything else I needed. No one asked during the meal how everything was. There was no sweetener for my coffee on my table so I had to “steal” some from another table. A couple sitting across from me had to “steal” silverware as none had been provided at the table they were seated at. I was eating solo and there were very few customers in the restaurant, so I don’t quite get the lack of attention. Hotel is nice but I’ll eat my meals elsewhere. I understand the restaurant is under new management. They probably won’t last very long if this type of experience is what they provide everyone who chooses to eat here.

Did a quick visit at Monterey and we found this restaurant. I do really recommend the French toast, they were really good. If you’re a big fan of bacon and ham, I would definitely recommend that, the bacon was thick and crispy, the ham was a big piece and so delicious. We also had orange juice and it was soooo good. The price for the food wasn’t so bad because it was in a large portion which we really liked and had difficulty finishing. Lol
I also do recommend the apple pancakes, there are pieces of apple inside the pancake, which made them taste 10x better. The inside of the restaurant was super clean and bright, our waiter was super friendly as well. When we first got to the restaurant, it was difficult to find the main entrance, but my overall experience was pretty good. We would definitely be coming back!
