I do like the thoughtful service and the glass topped tables with linen. There is free parking around the back.

Lamb Rogan Josh was pretty good.
Chicken tikka Marsala had a very bland flavor which had no indication this was Indian cuisine we are eating.

The naan was burned and paper thin.

Mango lassi was lacking flavor… this is where I got offended give me an extra spoon of mango pulp.

Sadly won’t be back.

This place was likely had been a bar or saloon back in the day that was converted to an Indian restaurant. It totally gives old school Chicago bar vibe except with Indian menu that is outstanding. All the entrees are nicely prepared with lots of flavors. While the “bar” portion of the name isn’t anything to write home about, this place is still recommended.

Complete Package! Yes, the 4.7 Stat rating is well deserved. The food was excellent; We had 1) Chicken Tikka Masala, 2) Two different Naan breads, 3) Cucumber salad and 4) Lamb Tikka Masala. The atmosphere was lively and allowed for good table conversation without speaking loud or struggling to hear table mates. Service was on point & executed well. Definitely will return!

I am so excited Apna has opened in my neighborhood. I have dined in and ordered take out on multiple occasions. My personal favorite dishes are the egg curry, aloo gobi ,chana masala, vegetable biryani, and lental soup. The tandoori roti and naan are always fresh and comforting. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing and inviting. I’m looking forward to chilling at the bar when I have some free time. The food is delicious and the service outstanding!
Highly recommend.

I ordered for delivery once. The food was terrific. And today, my friend, her kid, and I decided to come here for dinner. I recommended it to her. My friend and her kid were happy and really enjoyed the food. The staff were really lovely. We ordered Garlic Nan, Chicken Saag, Chicken Shani Korma, and Chicken Briyani for our dinner tonight. Oh, I also ordered Taj beer and it was nice and cold. All the food we ordered were delicious!!! We would definitely come back again.

We kicked things off with 4 garlic naans, fresh out of the tandoor — soft, buttery, and packed with that perfect garlicky punch. They paired beautifully with the two curries we ordered:
Paneer Tikka Masala – creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The paneer was perfectly grilled and soaked up the masala like a dream.
Kadai Paneer – bold, spicy, and aromatic with bell peppers and onions adding that extra zing. A classic done right!
Everything was smooth, well-balanced, and satisfying. The portions were generous, and the spices were just right — not too overpowering, but enough to keep your taste buds dancing.
☕ To wrap up the meal, we had a nice masala tea — warm, comforting, and the perfect end to a flavorful journey.
Final thoughts? We loved it. The food, the ambiance, and the service all came together for a great dining experience. Will definitely visit again!

One of the best place to have Indian food. I have been regular to this place. Took a glance to see recent reviews because being an Indian when we see some below the ground reviews for this restaurant I feel strange because, Without the base tomato layer the Indian food feels incomplete. It always better with tomato sauce layer. I love their butter chicken and honestly samosa chaat is my go to street food when I was in India and here too. So It always the same just like Indian flavors hits. It’s about the sauce which is mixed and layered on samosa chaat.

Pretty much affordable and Absolutely love their garlic naan

First time dining here. It exceeded our expectations! Wonderful food. Great service. Samosas good, pakora was great! Chicken Saag was so delicious. We also ordered vegetable biryani, and lamb kamala. We have enough left overs for 2 more meals!

Our first time here! We enjoyed the sampler appetizer, lamb vindaloo, butter, chicken, and tikka masala. We ordered everything spicy and it. It not only had good heat, but we could taste the spices as well. The bar drinks are great as well

I visited this place with a couple of friends and we ordered Gobi Manchurian, Goat Tikka Masala, and Butter Chicken. The dishes were outstanding and perfectly cooked…the real highlights of our visit.

My only concern was with the management. One staff member was handling everything on his own, which is not reasonable. I observed him preparing cocktails at the bar while simultaneously managing customer orders and walking back and forth to hand over delivery orders. This workload was excessive for one person.

I believe the management should take responsibility by assigning separate staf….one for serving food and another for taking orders…so employees are treated with the respect they deserve.

Despite this, the service itself was good. However, I genuinely felt for the staff member, which is why I would rate the experience 3 out of 5.
