Antojitos Guanamex is hands down one of my favorite hidden gems in town. Don’t let the appearance of the building from the outside or the area steer you away once you try their food, you’ll understand why people keep coming back.
Their pupusas are amazing fresh, cheesy, full of flavor, and made perfectly every single time. You can really taste the love they put into their cooking.
On top of that, their prices are super affordable, which makes it a great spot for families or anyone wanting a delicious meal without spending much.
Great food, great portions, great value. Highly recommend giving them a try!

On Saturday, I went and ordered just the yucca without chicharrón and was charged 4 dollars. I went in today and was told it cost 10 dollars but more yucca was going to be added since I ordered without chicharrón. The portion was the same as the first time.

I want to preface this by saying I am not Salvadorian. That being said i was raised with them. These have to be the dryest pupusas I have ever had in my life. The “mariscada” is just a caldo de mariscos, the sopes were pretty much tostadas as they tore the mouth up, and lastly by the time I got our food our drinks were room temp it took almost 40 minutes from the time of ordering to get our food.

They don’t care about providing fast service or checking up on their customers. Awful service.

Don’t let the neighborhood deter you from eating here. (We drove around the block hoping I had gotten the address wrong, but I hadn’t. ) Anyway, inside the door and you’re waited on quickly at big, wooden tables. The portions were enormous, enough for several meals! I ordered jamaica and it was wonderfully cold. This is a family restaurant, run with care and attention.

The owner and her husband are so sweet! I always feel very welcomed and treated like family! I love the fried Tilapia!!! It’s seasoned to perfection, I always ask for the head to be removed it just grosses me out as if it’s looking at me so the owner is always very kind with my request removing that part. She never makes me feel like it’s a burden or inconvenience.
