Tried this place for Sunday brunch, it was ok, but needs work. Service was kind of slow. Prices are too high for what you get. My drink (Flamenco Spritz) was the best part of the experience. Lemon berry pancakes lacked lemon flavor, but the portion was generous. The breakfast burrito was good with lots of chorizo. The quiche was a joke – when it was served, we all looked at it and asked “That’s it??” because it was really really small, like a tart. For $17? Nice vibe and atmosphere, though the booths are really uncomfortable.

This is an amazing new addition to the neighborhood. Totally rooting for their success. Great atmosphere. My impression is they don’t try to have too many things on the menu, but they do offer they want to do well, and first impression is they do just that.
Had the ginormous shrimp and roasted salad. They were out of the trout, but want to come back for that. And come back for the happy hour. And come back for the brunch.

Glad this place is here, give them a whirl!

My wife and I went to Antidote on Valentines day. Things started off poorly when after we arrived we were told there was just a prix fixe menu for the night. Unfortunately this was not communicated ahead of time on their website. No problem, as even though it was pricy we were game. Unfortunately the food did measure up. While both the oysters (2 each) and mussels (4 each) were fine, the main course was a huge miss. We both ordered the paperdelle with short rib pasta. The dish was quite small, and after the previous 2 very small portions, this was disappointing. After we tasted the dish, the size was the least of the problems. The sauce was very bland, which was very surprising as most reviews were positive for the food. Then there was the issue with the short ribs themselves. Both of our short rib portions were so tough, they could hardly be cut or chewed. If I had served this dish to friends, I would have been embarrassed.

The service was very good and the ambience was also nice. Unfortunately the food fell way short of any resonable expectation. The high price for this “special” meal also just felt like a cash grab.

Consistently superb service! The shrimp is excellent and my favorite item on the menu—seasoned to perfection with just the right char. The bartenders are fantastic, and the Pear Blade with bourbon is a game changer.. especially during the fall months. This spot is a wonderful addition to the Jefferson Chalmers area. The owner is awesome and has done an outstanding job leading the way in providing Detroiters with bolder, tastier, high-quality dining options and truly impeccable service.

We finally tried this new addition for Valentine’s Day dinner (even breaking a multi-decade rule to never dine out on 2/14, that’s how excited we were about this place opening walking distance from home). We just moved here from Austin, a foodie capital, and we’ve struggled to find places we like even when the locals rave about them, so I was worried this place would similarly disappoint. I should not have worried! We LOVED everything about our first trip to Antidote — the food (even the dishes the kitchen came up with as backups when I couldn’t have the shellfish courses on the Valentines Day prix fixe menu), the creative cocktails, and the incredibly attentive and kind staff (seriously, everyone we interacted with was a joy). We’re so happy Antidote has joined the neighborhood and we’ll be back many times!

I’m on my way back for a second visit in a month. I loved the food, atmosphere, and the professional staff, (kudos to Mike and Janes). I had the Brussels sprouts for my first impression, then the Trout, cooked to perfection( I will order again on another visit), and lastly the crème brûlée. My daughter selected me a green cocktail made with lime. The restaurant is lovely and has a uniqueness impression. Great for dressing up or casual.

Run don’t walk to check out this gem! The food was excellent (favs were the sautéed shrimp app, burger & crème brûlée, but we tried other items and liked them all); and the drinks were stellar (we tried 4 of their signature cocktails between the 2 of us and would order any/all again!).

A great spot!!! The food is delicious, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food prep is fresh without being over salted or too saucy. Great drinks & a “happy” pour of wine…would enthusiastically return.

My fiance and I went here for a last minute drink. Chris and John was fantastic! They immediately served us even though it was 30mins before close. Drinks, service, and environment were great! We will be returning.

The menu is small and yet has enough options to cater to any mood I could imagine having. The Mushroom Fideo was wonderful, and the Cheesecake was the best I’ve had since childhood, and it’s possibly only nostalgia that holds that place firm. I will say that I regret driving here. Had I not, I could have enjoyed more of the drinks they have to offer. I had the village sour and the aftertaste of raspberry on the tongue was delightful.
