Stopped at Anthony Francos on Route 22 in Springfield. I used to go to the one up in Sparta but I don’t live that way anymore unfortunately. So I was pretty happy to discover another location closer to where I’m at now.
The pizza was delicious!
Got a slice of Arugula Salad pizza……wanted to try something new. It did not disappoint. Crispy yet chewy, the toppings were flavorful and there was ALOT going on, but it was delicious and wasn’t too heavy at all like I thought it would be. Hit all the boxes of the checklist I have when searching for a good classic slice.
Everyone else liked the slices they got as well, and it gave me some nostalgia and happiness to support a business I loved years ago and found again.
If you need a quick slice while running errands (or anything else, I saw their full menu and I’ll definitely be trying something else next time too!)….head over to Anthony Francos, located on the Center Island on 22.
In addition to the food, I gotta shout out the staff for how kind and helpful they were. This mama definitely appreciated that!!
Great friendly staff that keep things moving but the flavor and quality of the pies didnt match.
The grandma had charred crust and disintegrated into powder when chewing. The vodka pie was mostly oil and didnt pack the punch a vodka sauce should pack.
The pizza is really good — perfect crust, great sauce, generous cheese (that actually stays where it belongs). The dinners are always solid and consistent. And the chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe and fresh mozz sandwich? Absolute perfection.
Delivery is quick, everything arrives hot, and the packaging is on point. No leaky containers, no cheese sliding off the pizza in a greasy mess. Just fresh, delicious food done right. Customer service is top tier.
Springfield staple for a reason.
For round 2, we did takeout and it was literally a flop. The pizza seemed underdone (not raw, just pale dough) and steamed in the box, so the bottoms were soggy.
Most recently, we ordered the Hot Honey Pie and asked for it well done which I’ll keep doing in the future. The hot honey was skimpy but the pie was pretty good. We also grabbed the kid’s pasta but my daughter wasn’t a fan. The sauce was on the tart side and tasted unseasoned.
One thing they deliver consistently is service. They’re super friendly which makes me wish the pizza matched the vibe. It’s pizza roulette.
NOTES/TIPS:
**Order with their website or phone.
**Located on Rte. 22 island near Chipotle and across the street from Tesla dealership.
**Easy parking, plenty of tables. Wheelchair-accessible.
Second time going to pick up and they still hold up the 5 stars I gave them. From now on I’m going to start uploading pictures. Here is a picture of a the delicious Sicilian pie and garlic knots. They are amazing!!!!
Update: second time here and I ordered the cheese ravioli bolognese… perfection add some chili flakes and you’re good to go. Bread was fresh baked and delicious. Highly recommend Francos.
