I had this place saved for a long time, and when I was finally in town I was excited to stop by. They only serve breakfast and are open from 7am to 2pm. We arrived on a Sunday around 11:15am and were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. It ended up being closer to 45 minutes, but I understood it was a busy day and tried to be patient.
The harder part was the service after we were seated. I am not sure if the kitchen was short staffed, but the food took a very long time to come out. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, we were there nearly two hours, which felt like a lot for breakfast. If you plan to visit on a weekend, it helps to leave extra time.
I ordered the starter breakfast, which I really liked because you can pick your eggs, your choice of meat, plus a biscuit or toast, and it comes with potatoes. It is a great option if you want a little bit of everything. Overall, I really wanted to love this place, and I hope the timing and service improve because the concept and menu are lovely.

I’ve only ever had pancakes here and they are soooooo good. I’m usually a waffle girlie, but the pancakes came with high recommendations and they weren’t wrong!!! I once ordered a cold brew and it tasted like it came from a bottle, so I always get coffee before going. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

My wife and I wanted to try something different, so we decided to eat at a place called Another Broken Egg. To our surprise, it turned out to be an amazing experience! While the delicious breakfast was a highlight, it was really the service that made our visit special. Our waiter was incredibly kind, sweet, and kept us laughing throughout the meal. We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the warm atmosphere. I decided on the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with potatoes, and my wife had to have the pancakes. One word… Fire!

I took my friend here to grab breakfast after picking him up at the airport nearby. I been to this restaurant before like a couple of years ago and I had a great experience. I parked my car at the police station two blocks away since it’s free two hours parking. You can try looking for street parking near the restaurant but since it’s near a courthouse, it’s usually taken. We got seated quick and we started to look at their menu. My friend got their coffee and I tried to order the fanta orange soda but our server came back to tell me they ran out of it. So I went with a coke and for my dish I got the Southern Chicken Sandwich with grilled chicken and fruits for my side. My friend went with the traditional breakfast with two eggs, bacon and potatoes. He tried to order fruits for his side but our waitress said it’s an additional cost which she didn’t tell me for my dish until I saw the bill. Our food came out quick and we both like what we ordered. The service we received was quick and she was attentive to us.

I visited the restaurant with a friend. We came on a Monday for brunch, so it was not very busy at all, but had a healthy sprinkling of people. The café is located on the corner of a busy intersection near the City Hall. If you decide to sit outside, it can be a little bit noisy with car traffic. However, I don’t think that it ruined the atmosphere. We ended up getting the lunch duo combo, which gives you half a sandwich and a lunch serving size of soup. The portion was reasonable, but for the price it was a bit lacking. The lunch combination is probably the best deal that you can get on their menu otherwise most of the menu is priced above average. Personally, I do not think that it would be worth waiting for on a weekend, but it’s still a decent option to have for a brunch.

If you’re looking for your next favorite brunch place, look no further! I genuinely can’t tell y’all enough about how great this place is, and how much of a joy it truly feels like to be somewhat of a regular here. This place has become my absolute favorite brunch place in all of LA.
They bring traditional, homemade southern cuisine to an elevated level while making you experience that warm comfort you can only get from home. This food is truly just incredible. This place is busy for a reason; I promise you that!
The amazing staff here makes you feel right at home and makes sure you get everything you need. This is the kind of place you can be on a first name basis with the staff, so make sure you give the energy you get from the amazing servers and hosts here. The food was amazing as usual. I’ve been to locations in Florida, Louisiana, Texas and now California and they never disappoint me. Even though the cinnamon roll French toast was different than it is in the other states it was still tasty. I will definitely say that City Grits were even better than I’ve ever had. I Don’t even know how that is possible, but they were even more amazing than they normally are. Absolutely delicious. The smoked salmon that I had was really good. The bacon and eggs were perfect compliments. Really enjoyed the customer service, the view, the vibe of this location. Next time I’m in town I will definitely go back for round two!

Go here for the chilaquiles. I dont think they’re on the menu but they’ll definitely make them for you. So many negative experiences in other spots claiming chilaquiles but only turn out to be nachos with salsa poured over. This place has a comfortable medium, not nachos and not too soft. Their pancakes are great. They serve a decent cup of coffee too.
