I had been to Ann’s Bistro once before with the hubby and remembered liking it. This time I went with 2 friends. Abby our host/owner was lovely. The restaurant feels cozy & inviting with wood paneling and bookshelves. We ordered 2 cocktails and a mocktail, guava bourbon smash, tangerine mezcal margarita & guava sunshine fizz, the concoctions were perfectly balanced & got us off to a nice start. There is a small but well selected mostly European wine list. The menu was eclectic & appetizing making it hard to chose. We ordered salad, lamb ragu, linguine carbonara & carne asada (grilled beef w/ rice & beans + side salad that came with it). Dessert was a chocolate lava cake w/ pomegranate seeds. All the dishes were delicious. I can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu. They also own Koko’s Sandwich Bar which I look forward to trying too.

Our first visit and it was wonderful! We had red snapper fish tacos for appetizers and the flavors were fantastic! We also had a salad and pork, both delicious.

Amazing find. Damariscotta downtown was too crowded so we ended up at Ann’s for a 50th birthday celebration. We literally got one of everything so I can say without reservation that you can’t go wrong with whatever you order. Atmosphere is great and the staff incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back for a date night.
We did have kids with us and had varying degrees of success getting them to eat. Families should be aware there’s no kids menu so it might not be the best match for picky eaters, but everyone made my kids feel welcome and they did great. Thanks all for a memorable evening!

Amazing cuisine such attention to detail! Excellent customer service our server was fabulous she was such a sweetheart! Ambiance and music was great. My husband and I were in town for a few days and so happy we chose to dine at Ann’s Book Bistro!! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for delicious food and fabulous dining experience!

Absolutely delicious, a little hidden gem in Maine. The staff is great, the environment cozy and the Chef…he leaves your taste buds asking for more food. The paella is authentic and delicious, as it should be since the Chef is from Spain. The charcuterie is versatile and so satisfying it makes you feel as though you would be complete having just that for dinner. Each dish has something unique to make it special. I would definitely recommend Ann’s Book Bistro…any night of the week.

We are local and heard of this spot by word of mouth, finally tried it and we’re not disappointed! Great atmosphere! The waitstaff were kind and professional, and the food was fantastic! Instead of bread and butter, they served naan-style flatbreads with a delicious hummus. We had the Argentinian Churrasco special which was *perfect.* our waiter made me a mocktail even though it wasn’t on the menu. We will most certainly be back!!

Amazing food. We’ve eaten here 3 times now, and can’t pick our favorite. Although the tomato-fennel soup today was unreal today. Chris Padel, the chef of some renown from Barcelona and NYC has worked in some of the great kitchens. The whole menu is available at any time since he makes everything from scratch.

Ann’s Book Bistro is such a gem of a restaurant. The staff working there are all phenomenal and extremely personable. The food is always INCREDIBLE from the Seafood Coconut Curry Pasta to the insanely delicious Paella! The Chef/Co-Owner is from Spain so he absolutely knows how to master this traditional dish. They also pride themselves in sourcing as much of their produce and proteins locally which you can tell in the favors of each item you consume here. The drinks and desserts are also lovely! The space is so cozy, the music is great, it feels like you are visiting good friends each time! So lucky to have such a great spot for Spanish food in Midcoast Maine!
