Ann’s Best is an absolute gem! And Ann is a sweetheart! Talking with her made me think of home, back in south Louisiana, where the food is well seasoned and the people treat you like family.
The fried catfish, red beans & rice, and collard greens took me back to walking barefoot on the banks of the Amite River with a stringer full of fish, ready to fry em up on a Saturday evening.
From someone who knows about good southern and creole cooking, Ann’s is highly recommended.

The food here is crazy stupid good. First time here and I got Gumbo with fried okra and Mac n cheese. Washed it down with the sweet tea and finished with the buttermilk pie. All of it amazing.

The shrimp po boy was really good. Only drawback is it does not have enough shrimp. It could use more shrimp and it would be definitely a home run hitter. Currently, there is more bread than shrimp. I was expecting it to be like the shrimp loaded ones I would get while in Louisiana. This same comment goes for the oyster po boy, which my friend mentioned it was disappointing due to not enough oysters. The 3 star food rating is only for not enough shrimp. Otherwise, a great place for good food.

Just had lunch at this hidden gem. All the food was amazing. The Crawfish Etouffee is a high recommendation with the perfect amount of kick. The Mac n’ Cheese was super delish, and seemed like it was made from scratch since there was some oil pooling around the bottom of the dish. The cornbread also tasted like it was made from scratch, and don’t get me started on the bread pudding! Damn thing tasted like it was made from Cinnamon Rolls!!! Scrumptious!!! Highest recommendation…An Amboy A+!!!!

Happy to find a place in town that’s not afraid of a salt shaker. Food has good flavor. Etouffe and anything smothered will probably be the best thing you can get.

Chicken po boy: 9/10 – got this to try both the chicken and the po boys. Both are 9/10. Po boy was huge.
Catfish (cajun): 7/10 – better than I expected
Mac: 7/10 – definitely a classic southern mac, but just a tiny bit dry
Puppies: 6/10
Bloob lemonade: 10/10 – definitely get this.
