While the food is fine, it really isn’t anything special. I had the Chicken Fried Steak and it was fine, the gravy was some water based packaged stuff and my over-medium eggs were barely over-easy (still had some raw whites) so I asked for a replacement and they were also basically raw. I only got 1 refill of coffee in the hour I was there which is just unacceptable. They had a Anthony Bourdain quite on the wall, so that’s cool.

The food is good, but its going to take 35-50 minutes for a single person to to receive any food. Been here for lunch over the years and the timeliness and preparedness is 0/10. They do not have staff to seat you and haven’t for over three years. They will make this your problem by having you seat yourself while you hope a waiter notices you. After 10 minutes, someone will finally notice your dirty table and come by to clean it and give you a menu. 10 more minutes and they’ll take your order. After 30-40 minutes you’ll receive your appetizer, and shortly after your food. I’m impressed by any business open for lunch hours that cannot exit guests in under an hour. Go somewhere else, this place will not respect you, your time, or your money. Never going back with such poor service and poor response time. Poorly lit, smells gross, even the No smoking sign on the bathroom smells like smoke.

We waited 45 minutes just to get our food, the burger was dry and cold and the fries warm. The masala was bland and it took 20 minutes to dven get a check to pay. We had to flag down a server fo pay.

The menu was quite descriptive about the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were said to be a fluffy flaky popular item. My two large biscuits were balls of dough! There was absolutely no flakiness to be found. The gravy seemed to be made with cornstarch due to its translucency. The seasoning was not to my liking but that could be personal.

I went here with a friend to catch up over a meal, and this place was great.
I had one of the omelettes. Delicious! The serving size and the price are both suitable for a meal that will leave you full and satisfied. I’d recommend asking about smaller options if you just want a quick, light breakfast.
I also tried one of their cream pies for dessert… now that was amazing.
The only reason I can see for some people to dislike this place is the decor. It’s an older building, and it shows a bit cosmetically. To be honest, I like that a lot. Annette’s made me feel at home. If you’re looking for a shiny trendy restaurant, Annette’s might not be the best place for you. If you just want an amazing brunch? Annette’s is the place.

Phenomenal breakfast!! Really big portions, great value for a hearty meal. Service was very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy. Recommend trying the biscuits, they are tasty and enormous.

I’ve been going to Annette’s for decades, I was just dining there today.
What a disappointment my meal was really bad. I ordered a patty melt and tater tot’s.
The patty melt was so greasy the bread was soaked with it, I squeezed it and grease just poured out of it. It had zero flavor but it was piping hot. However the tater tots were cold and burnt. They were so greasy they were inedible and who wants to eat cold grease?
The waitress was nice but there was only 4 tables, I made eye contact with the waitress 4 times trying to get her attention, finally when she did come over I just decided to leave, I didn’t even want to take it home to the dog. Bad food and not great service…

I ordered the Salmon Lo-Cal breakfast at Annette’s Westgate, and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon was full of flavor with perfectly crispy skin and cooked just right. It paired beautifully with the eggs, cottage cheese, and avocado, making the dish feel both fresh and satisfying.
If you’re looking for a healthy, flavorful breakfast option in Salem, this is an excellent choice. Thoughtfully prepared, well balanced, and a great example of why Annette’s Westgate is a favorite local spot. I would definitely order this again.

Undercooked hashbrowns ): so sad. I miss the days of the previous owner. The quality matched the price. It was worth it then.
Especially since it’s the haystack, which is the entire meal…. Their coffee drinks are still awesome.

Excellent customer service in a quiet and cozy restaurant. The food was very good and you can get breakfast all day. Restrooms are reasonably nice and parking was not any trouble. Definitely worth giving it a try, an excellent place for a family dinner or a romantic evening.
