On a positive note, the chole bhature & dosa were well prepared and stood out as few of the best items I’ve tried. In terms of consistency, quality, and taste, chole bhature & dosa seems to be the most reliable choice at this location.
I also tried the mango ice cream that was delicious, and the first time trying there coconut juice something that had a different taste but was still great.
Had there samosas aswell from a different previous time and when you put those sauces on them let me tell you it makes it 10x better. If you live near by or just reading the review come stop by here it’s well worth your time.

On the positive side, the service was good and the staff were polite. The place was clean and well-maintained, which we appreciated. But despite the nice ambiance and friendly service, the food simply didn’t have the flavor or authenticity we were hoping for.
Overall, it was an okay experience, but we probably wouldn’t return unless the taste and quality of the food improve.
On the other hand, the Chole Bhatura was flavorful and satisfying (4/5).
The place is very clean and has a wide variety of Indian options—South Indian tiffins, street food like vada pav, dabeli, samosa, kachori, and batata vada, live pani puri, juice bar with ice gola and coconut water, and even live cotton candy. Lots of pre-packed Indian snacks and sweets too.
I may come back to try other items, but I wouldn’t recommend it for South Indian dishes.

➡️ First Impression:
My first visit to Annapurna Simply Vegetarian at 721 W Golf Rd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169, was exciting because I was craving good South Indian & Gujarati-style food. The place has a clean, simple vegetarian vibe and feels welcoming as soon as you walk in.
➡️ What I Ordered:
• Idly Sambar: listed at $8.49 + taxes + 3% credit card fee → final $9.69
• Pav Bhaji: listed at $11.99 + taxes + 3% credit card fee → final $13.69
➡️ Taste & Quality:
The taste was excellent for both dishes—honestly some of the best I’ve had recently.
• Idly Sambar — idlis were incredibly soft and fluffy, almost melting in the mouth, and the sambar had that perfect tangy-spicy balance with good vegetable pieces.
• Pav Bhaji — very flavorful, well-spiced bhaji with the right amount of buttery richness, and the pav was soft and toasted nicely. I genuinely loved the food and the quality felt authentic and fresh.
➡️ Portion vs Price:
Portions were decent (generous for the idlis, satisfying for the pav bhaji). The base prices are reasonable for the area ($8.49 and $11.99), but the 3% credit card surcharge on top of taxes pushed the total noticeably higher ($9.69 and $13.69). That extra charge really stung because no one mentioned it upfront when I ordered or paid at the front desk. I only saw it on the receipt and felt quite frustrated.
➡️ Service & Environment:
Service was okay—normal wait time for the order, staff were polite but didn’t proactively inform about the credit card fee. Seating is moderate (enough space, not overly spacious). The restaurant was clean, hygienic, and had a calm atmosphere overall.
➡️ Final Thoughts:
Annapurna Simply Vegetarian serves really excellent idly sambar and pav bhaji—the taste is outstanding and I would happily eat here again for the food alone. But the surprise 3% credit card fee (not disclosed verbally) left a bad taste after such a good meal. If you pay cash, you’ll avoid it and get the best value. For the food quality, it’s definitely worth a visit—just be aware of the surcharge if using a credit card.
Recommendations for Improvement:
• Clearly mention the 3% credit card surcharge at the ordering counter or on the menu board so customers aren’t surprised at checkout.
• Keep up the soft idlis, flavorful pav bhaji, and clean restaurant!
If you’re near 721 W Golf Rd, Hoffman Estates, and love authentic vegetarian Indian food, Annapurna is a solid choice—just pay cash to skip the extra fee!
While I appreciate the quick service and affordability, the food quality left a lot to be desired. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless there are improvements to the food.
