I visited Annamalai Indian Restaurant in Prague in December and had an exceptional dining experience. The food was truly authentic, bursting with the rich, comforting flavors of South India. There was a fantastic variety of dishes to choose from, all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented.
A special mention goes to Ramesh, our server, who was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. His genuine hospitality made the experience even more memorable.
If you’re looking for authentic South Indian food in Prague, I highly recommend Annamalai Indian Restaurant. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in the city!

We had a wonderful experience at Annamalai Restaurant! We ordered the biriyani and porotta with Chettinad curry, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The biriyani was perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and nicely spiced. The porotta was soft and flaky, and the Chettinad curry had a rich, authentic taste with authentic South Indian spices.
The ambience was very nice, and they were playing Tamil songs in the background, which made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable and gave it a homely South Indian vibe.
A small tip: if you can’t handle very spicy food, just ask them to lower the spice level — they’re happy to adjust it for you.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine! ️✨

Excellent food, wonderful and friendly service; a cute, comfortable place we’d love to return to soon – on our next visit to Prague. The Masala Dosa and Medu Vada were crispy and delicious and reminded us of our travels and meals in Tamil Nadu and other parts of South India. Really enjoyed the Gobi 65… fun to see Indo-Chinese snacks and dishes on the menu, too. The decorations and vibe of the place are lovely – flower garlands and deities that also bring back memories from afar. Thank you!

Had a nice meal. It’s was bit cold for me down there That could be my personal preference. But other than that being having eating food all my life, could have preferred the heat to be at least a pinch. But again it was by personal preference. Not blaming on the food. Next time will ask for a bit spicier. . I heard it was just two months so I assume they are still figuring things out. But compared to other Indian restaurants. Which are all North Indian taste, this definitely brought the South Indian taste. Dhosa was great ,tea was tipical Indian chai. Will definitely go back. Loved the Tamil songs keep it up folks.

I had the chance to eat at this authentic Tamil restaurant in Prague during my trip. The food tasted like a home-cooked meal and was truly delicious. If you’re craving Tamil food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing South Indian home style food which is family run. Exceptional service (shout out to the owner and his son who took care of service), great prices, probably the best in Prague for Indian food with a WIDE range of South Indian options to choose from. It’s a very small space, so would recommend to reserve in advance before arriving. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu .

I have been eating at Annamalai since it opened and honestly I must say they have really stepped up their game. The quality, quantity and consistency are way better now. Big shoutout to their sambhar idli – it’s seriously amazing. Plus the prices are an added advantage compared to other South Indian restaurants here. Props to the family for keeping it solid.

We got a variety of food to taste including mutton biryani, chettinad prawn, chicken pallipalayam, paneer butter masala, naans, roti and mango lassi.
Everything was outstanding!
The food takes around 40 min to come out but that is because they cook everything from scratch, it is a family business.
Absolutely loved everything and will be coming back to try more dishes.
Kudos also to the hospitality, which is sometimes forgotten in other restaurants in Prague
