Our story routes back to a little boy spending time in the kitchen watching other people cook and pound some flavourful masalas. With the growing numbers in Konaar mess, grew his passion. Mr Anjappan started his first restaurant located in Royapettah, Chennai in the year 1964 with the blessings of Sri M G Ramachandran, a well-renowned actor. Starting with a single outlet and now serving 48 outlets in India and over 45 outlets spread across 20 countries, we are proud to call ourselves the world’s largest chain of Chettinad Restaurants.

Anjappar Chettinad Cuisine offers truly authentic flavors, especially the excellent veg thali platter which was both satisfying and full of traditional taste. The interior is simple yet charming, with a pleasant fragrance and a warm, old school temple town style ambiance that reflects the essence of Tamil Nadu.
The service was great, and the staff were attentive and accommodating to our requests. Cleanliness was well maintained, and the traditional style cutlery and serving dishes, including food served on banana leaf, added to the overall experience. The ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful.
A must visit spot and definitely one of the best value for money meals around.

Anjappar is always our first choice for Tamil-style cuisine. We’ve visited many times and have tried several of their dishes. The Chettinad chicken, idli or chapathi with chicken curry, and the aatu kaal (goat bone) soup are all delicious and perfectly spicy. The pomfret polichathu and chukku coffee are must-orders every single time.
Along with the scrumptious food, their customer service is warm and welcoming. The décor also gives a nostalgic touch — it truly feels like eating at a restaurant back home.

Wonderful ambiance and great food. Been here for couple of times, and we had nothing but good experience. Once during a togo thali order the curries were too oily, greasy and quantities felt much less than dine in experience. However the dine in day curries were pretty good, the chicken curry and parata was good too. At the end, we had their masala butter milk which was excellent in taste but it was pricy for the quantity served.

We went for Sunday breakfast and ordered appam with paaya. While the flavors were decent, the paaya portion was surprisingly small, which was disappointing. For the price charged, it didn’t feel worth it. On the positive side, the tea was very good, and the sweet was enjoyable. I’ll avoid visiting for a while, though I might still recommend the tea.

Amazing food!! I ordered the thali and the serving size was perfect! Loved the variety and everything tasted good. I wasn’t even that hungry and still ended up finishing the whole thing.
The service was quick as well, with zero wait time. It was clean, and serving plates were pretty as well.

Loved the food. I have been to their South Bay location but this was better. They have very different food from other South Indian restaurants, so try out their variety. You won’t be disappointed

Just an amazing place for some sumptuous South Indian food. Very clean, service is great. All their dosas, uttpams and chutneys are really good.
Filter kappi is a must, and don’t forget to try their Black Rice dessert ( one of my best dessert ever ).
John is a great guy who helps you choose what to order and is very friendly and patient.
Highly recommend- mysore masala dosa, ghee dosa, podi masala dosa, onion tomato uttapam, sambar vadai and idli sambar.

Excellent and authentic taste! This is the only South Indian restaurant here that truly matches the exact flavors we get in India. The menu is precise, and everything tastes consistently great. I have visited this restaurant frequently and have tried most of the items on the menu.

Awesome food options. Favorite items: Marina Beach Sundal, Kizhi Parota, Black Kavuni Rice Pudding. Anjappar special chicken curry with Parota is unmatched in Bay Area. If you want to experience South Indian taste, I would highly recommend this place.
