First off it was a ROUGH night for these guys. They had a chef no show so there was only 1 for both the hotels restaurant. The waitresses were so nice and did their best to accommodate the long table and food times. They warned me it’d be a while so I went ahead, started waiting for a table, and even put our food order in way before seating. So, with the right planning it worked out fine.
I got the fish and chips and they were pretty good. I was a little jealous bc my son’s tacos looked AMAZING. My wife got a steak salad and enjoyed hers a lot. The kids also got root beer floats, and they brought the A&W cans with extra root beer.
As for atmosphere, you can’t beat it. You’re literally on the river and have an amazing view. Hopefully they got their staffing issues sorted out. The vibe and food were worth the wait.

We had a wonderful experience at Animas River Beer Garden! The food was fantastic, the drink selection was great, and the setting by the river couldn’t have been more beautiful. What really stood out, though, was how welcoming and accommodating everyone was—especially with our two young daughters.
Our server, Jen, was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, patient, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She made our girls feel right at home, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable for us as parents.
It’s rare to find a spot that offers such a fun and relaxing environment while still being incredibly family-friendly. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone—whether you’ve got kids in tow or just want a chill spot with great food and drinks!

Sit right next to the Animas river, and enjoy the relaxing sound of the water. We ordered drinks, and the pretzel with pablano queso. The pretzel is huge! Delicious crispy outside, soft and tender inside. The queso is awesome. The girls that work down there are sweet and funny and attentive. The restaurant is at the back of the hotel, and a little hard to find, but worth the search. Lots of tables to choose from.

Great atmosphere by the river. The food was delicious, drinks were cold, and the whole experience was exactly what we hoped for. Our server Jen M was incredibly attentive and took special care of our dog Rango, bringing him water and making sure he was comfortable. The food was delicious and it’s refreshing to find such a genuinely dog-friendly place. Highly recommend!

Most disappointing fish and chips I’ve had in 5 years. If you are going to serve something like this to your patrons, you are basically insulting them. Smallest sliver of fish and three puny sticks.

Our waitress Jennifer M. was absolutely wonderful! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience by bringing the kids extra coloring pages and even offered to take our family picture down by the river! We will ask for one of her tables again! Also, the nachos were so delicious!
