We are a small chain (3 total) of family owned Seafood Restaurants, notorious for serving some of the freshest and best tasting seafood around. We are proud to be the favorite among locals and love to meet new friends visiting for the first time. My Father opened our first location in Searsport in 2000. Since then we have been fortunate enough to add two more, the 2nd in 2006, at 542 Elm St, Newport and the 3rd in 2011, at 91 Coldbrook Rd, Hampden. We pride ourselves in providing our customers with top notch quality & service, while working hard to maintain family friendly pricing. We also offer an extensive list of home-made desserts, many of which are our Mother’s original recipes (SO YUMMY!) Your 100% satisfaction is our first priority!
Casual local seafood chain serving fried & broiled fare, plus sandwiches, chowders & steaks.

Warm and cozy atmosphere. Crazy big portions. Excellent server. Our mud slides were on this side of heaven. Dinner rolls and cole slow….yum Food was perfection. Prices were extremely reasonable.

The fried Mushrooms were not cooked completely, soggy, the Scallops were under cooked as well. They were soooo greasy the French fries on the plate were covered in grease. The coleslaw was bland, don’t know what is going on here but this restaurant is not what it used to be. When traveling to Maine seafood is one of the main reasons and this was a tremendous let down. On a brighter note my wife’s lobster roll and onion rings were very good.

Overall disappointing experience. I was ready to throw down on some lobster, only to be told they were out. There was nothing else on the menu that wasn’t available on any other menu in the area. I rarely give less than 4 stars unless the experience was overall disappointing, and I’m sad to say it was. The server seemed to have better things to do, I was reduced from ordering a market price platter of lobster and other stuff to ordering a $39.99 bowl of lobster Mac and cheese that had .75¢ worth of lobster in it. My wife ordered the lobster roll which she had ordered at several other restaurants by this point. She said this was the least flavorful of the lot. I wouldn’t dare steer people away from this establishment but it does seem to need some fine tuning and I hope they appreciate the honest review. Keep in mind this visit was during the off-season.

We’ve also had the fried haddock, stuffed lobstah, and the clam chowdah is VERY GOOD.
There really hasn’t been anything we haven’t liked here.
Pricing here is varied. Anglers has meals that would satisfy for many wallets depending on the day and what you are craving.
Both the Searport and Newport locations are delicious and worth a visit!

The Maine steamer clams, haddock fish, beets, and dessert were all delicious. I can tell that the clams and fish were fresh, as I grew up eating fresh seafood all the time in my hometown. Highly recommended! Our server was amazing too!

Amazing…service and food! At 5:15 pm we were seated within 1 minute and she immediately took our drink order. I’ve never had this happen at any restaurant. The Lobster stew was especially flavorful and we couldn’t put our finger on the “secret ingredient” but we think it may be the butter used. I ordered the Jr. Platter of clams, scallops, shrimp and haddock… I still left with a doggie bag. Servings are generous as you can see in the photos. We are so glad we chose the Angler for our last big hurrah dinner before leaving the state of Maine.

A local favorite. It can get Quite Packed, even with the large lot and multiple dining areas. At times you will have to wait for seats to open up. Friendly, attentive staff. Decent size portions. Delicious food. A lively place.

We ate here yesterday 9/14/25. Our waitress was very nice but we had to ask her just to get water, and she only brought one not two. She never ask to refill our empty coffee cups. The food looked good but had no flavor all. It was disgusting. The middle aged guy who was behind the register was as rude as can be. For $50.72 you would think you might get some service and flavor. Never again
