Great experience overall. The hamburgers are very tasty, and the service was friendly and efficient. The kids’ meal is a nice option for children; however, the bun is a little big compared to the mini patty. Aside from that, everything else was excellent. We would definitely come back.

We love this cute little diner. Came in from out of town and had to stop here for dinner. Service was quick and friendly, food was hot and filling. Just a good ol hamburger and milkshake joint. Nothing fancy but that’s what makes it good!

Thought I’d give Angel’s Diner a try for the first time. So this restaurant is unique for sure with caddy on the roof… To the decor inside. The customer service was good friendly staff. Prices were reasonable for quantity of food you receive. I had the cheese burger and my wife had the mozza burger.. I really enjoyed the crispy onion rings. The gravy was a little on the salty side. The fries weren’t bad the burgers had huge buns and fresh toppings. Way better then Peter’s Drive in. One thing I must say the noise level was quite loud when we first got there. Then after 30mins the crowd died down and wasn’t as bad could actually hear myself think. Would have sat outside but the tables didn’t have umbrella’s. Pro tip if you need to use the washroom and someone is using it there is some downstairs.

I love vintage diners. The wholesome old fashioned details of these places make getting a burger more than just a fast food stop. It becomes a time travel experience back to full flavoured milkshakes, good sized delicious burgers with solid ingredients and crispy fries or onion rings. Angel’s doesn’t disappoint. I’d say they have the best onion rings in town. You have to try them. They are so good!
I’d recommend coming with time to sit in one of the booths or an outdoor patio table on a nice day. Umbrellas are put out on sunny days.
Lots of people coming and going with minimal wait for fresh food. No problem grabbing something for take out.
If you’re not in the mood for a burger, this is great stop for a tasty cool treat. Pick up an ice cream or float, if you’re not in the mood for a milkshake. You can chill on site, or better yet head to Bowness Park (just a couple blocks north) and walk along the river or sit under the shade of one of the beautifu big old trees.
If you’re not getting take out, you can grab a menu at the right side of the counter (closest by the door) and find yourself a seat. No table service here but you can take your time. Sit where you like, pick what you’d like then head to the counter to order. You pay when your order and bring your dishes back to the labeled rack (at the left of the counter) when you are done. If your food will be a few minutes you’ll get a buzzer to notify you when your order is ready for pick up (also at the left side of the counter).
Self serve water and glasses available as labeled on the dish rack.
Good size parking lot and some street parking.
Hope this place stays open for many years to come. We’ll definitely be back.

Loved the vibe here! The food was exactly what you’d expect from a classic diner—nothing fancy, but it hits the spot, especially on a cheat day. The atmosphere was a standout: super nostalgic and made me feel like I’d stepped out of Calgary for a bit. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before. I highly recommend the curly fries and the strawberry milkshake!

I remember when this place had great food and even better people. We ordered here last night and were very disappointed. The young lady who took our order in the drive thru lane was good. As we were waiting for our food I was explaining to my other half how good this place was, I even was explaining how “even the patties are mad here!” As we were handed our food from what seemed to be the cook (maybe 17yrs old) I asked him if the patties were still fresh and he then proceeded to tell me “no, sorry they are not”.
We got our shakes and burgers and poutin and drove home. My other half’s burger was missing onions and the bun was way too big for the burger (frozen patty mind you) my double had one small peice of lettuce and smothered in ketchup. All of the items, not including the shakes, were bland and missing salt or any kind of seasoning. My other half’s burger bit into something hard and almost chipped a tooth.
For the $65 and change that I paid for this meal, I would have been better to go to Boogies, but hey… at least the shakes were ok.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Don’t waste your time or money!!

A great Lil Classic Burger Shop that is oozing with character! I had driven by here many times and always wanted to stop in. I am glad that I finally did.
Walking in is like stepping back in time. The charm of this place is very evident.
The staff were quite friendly and even brought our delicious real coconut milk shakes to the table.
The Bowness Burger meal was great and even came with a large poutine to boot. To be honest it would be great if a little more variety was added to the menu. But what they have is made well.
I would have enjoyed it if the juke box still worked but I understand that servicing that system is not easy.
I am glad that I finally came. Hopefully it won’t be long before I return.

A very nice and clean restaurant with a fun and retro atmosphere! Their milkshakes are absolutely delicious and a must-have; I highly recommend adding the real fruit to them! The French fries are also very thick and delicious. There’s outdoor seating as well as lovely indoor seating. The staff work fast and are friendly, and it is a pretty busy place! Overall we really enjoyed our experience here and will definitely be returning 🙂
