I recently visited Angelo’s Trattoria in Bordentown, NJ, and I can honestly say it was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and cozy atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a relaxing meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing.

I decided to try the Clams Casino, which was absolutely delicious—the creamy sauce was rich but not overwhelming, and the clams were absolutely delicious. My girlfriend had the Pescatore Fra Diable, which she couldn’t stop raving about; the mussels in it were absolutely incredible and one of the largest mussels we have ever seen, it was on the spicier side, so beware.

We also shared the Calamari Fritta and it was a perfect appetizer—crispy on the outside and paired perfectly with the San Marzano pasta sauce, hands down the best calamari for the price and what they give you. Also had the chicken Parmesan eggrolls, they were ok and definitely worth the try. The portion sizes were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied.

One of the best parts was that it’s BYOB, so we brought along a bottle of wine that paired perfectly with the meal. The restaurant is casual yet elegant, which makes it suitable for a date night or a family gathering. Overall, I highly recommend Angelo’s Trattoria to anyone in the area looking for delicious Italian food in a comfortable setting. It’s definitely a place I’ll return to soon!

Came here on a Thursday night for dinner with friends. And it was great. Shown to our table right away, the food and service were both excellent. We ordered the lasagna, which was rich, cheesy, when you get the dish, it’s not the traditional lasagna you come to expect, it’s presented from a different perspective, and the taste was on point to any good lasagna you can remember. The chicken and shrimp fra diavolo had just the right amount of heat, with tender shrimp, juicy chicken, and a flavorful, spicy tomato sauce that really brought the dish together. The short rib ragu was a standout — the meat was fall-apart tender, and the sauce was hearty and deeply savory, paired perfectly with the pasta.

Service was attentive and prompt throughout the meal. Our server checked in just the right amount, and everything came out hot and fresh. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in their food, and the front of house makes sure guests feel welcome. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to, highly recommend!

Can’t speak highly enough about Angelo’s following our first visit. We started with an order of Calamari Frito, I ended up getting the Pescatore Fra Diablo, and others at the table ordered the Shrimp and Chicken Fra Diablo, Ricotta Gnocchi, and Bronzino (one of the specials). The Pescatore Fra Diablo is one of the best seafood pasta dishes, if not Italian dishes, I have ever had the pleasure of trying. I almost finished the dish but did not want to make myself sick and save room for dessert (ended up eating for breakfast the next day and it was equally as good). Everyone agreed that their dishes were excellent and the house made pasta was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this Italian restaurant. I ordered the calamari and the Diablo Pescatore for to go—both were excellent. The calamari was perfectly crispy and tender, not greasy at all, and the Diablo Pescatore was packed with flavor and seafood, with just the right amount of heat.

Portions were generous, and presentation was on point. The quality of ingredients really came through, especially in the seafood. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, I genuinely felt it was worth it for the freshness, flavor, and portion size.

Would definitely come back to try more dishes. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality Italian meal with a seafood twist!

First time here. Both my husband and I had one of the specials. One was Grouper and Risotto and the other was pasta and lobster and shrimp. Both were absolutely delicious. We will be back. Service was amazing too. Thank you for a fun night!

What a great little spot. The inside is super cozy and the service is fantastic. They do have a few outside tables in front as well. The food was amazing. All the pasta is fresh made and it shows in the flavor. The Emma’s meatballs were delicious as well as the grilled octopus, the barata cheese special, and all of the appetizers we had. The chicken and shrimp fra Diavlo was amazing. The lamb special in steak specials I was told were great as well and perfectly cooked. The eggplant parm ravioli special was a hit for those that ordered that. Gnocchi And the chicken cutlet and pasta were delicious as well. Save room for dessert because they have some great selections as well. The bandino was heavenly as well as the whiskey butter cake. Definitely will be going back here. Best part, BYOB!

Enjoyed my first lunch here so much came back a second day. This is a charming intimate and sweet Italian restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Felt so welcomed and cared for. The lunch menu has great options and it is cooked to perfection. The bread is exceptional. The past is homemade and fresh. They are located in historic Bordentown on Main Street. The dinner menu is more expansive and looks fantastic. They do not serve alcohol so it is BYOB. The mussels were wonderful! Highly recommended!

Huge shoutout to Angelo’s tonight. Only wish I would’ve remembered my server’s name, to give her extra recognition here.

We went out for an important dinner tonight. We were celebrating something small, but meaningful.
When we called they had no reservations available for the evening, but then called us back and squeezed us in at 4:30.

The power went out in the entire city after we were served our first course. We were served our entrees in the dark, with the same elegance, as of nothing had occurred. Even with the unfortunate circumstances, we were treated like royalty by the entire staff, and had an exceptional dining experience. I will be dreaming of the escarole, until I have it again.

Thank you Angelo’s! Great job!
