Angelo’s Pizza is a 4th generation pizza-making family dynasty that starts with the original Angelo, who humbly came to this country in the late 1930s. Settling in New York City, he worked a lifetime making great and authentic Italian Pizza, first at various pizza shops around the city, and then at his own store, the legendary Pizza Chef, on Brooklyn’s Fulton Street. Angelo only made pizza with coal ovens, typically running between 800°-1,000° F, producing crisp pies with a nice char within 60-90 seconds. As time passed, Angelo felt there were only a handful of pizza places left in the city like his and vowed to continue making traditional New York Style Coal-Oven Pizza. The food is fresh, but the pizza lacked flavor, even with extra toppings. The dough was soft, but the bottom was a bit over cooked.
The lasagna was slightly better.
The atmosphere is okay and the location near Times Square is convenient, but the staff could be friendlier.
Overall, it was an average experience and not worth the price for me.

Went at 630p on a weeknight. Easy seating. Food came out piping hot for all 8 of us. Decent sampling of the options and all was fantastic. The pizza has a crispy undercarriage and was delightful. Recommend.

Lovely place with friendly staff and prompt seating. We had high expectations but alas the food was overcooked and flavorless. I had the salmon and vegetables (dry and soggy respectively) and my son had chicken Alfredo (tough on both counts). Neither seemed made fresh. Best part was the glass of wine.

The food was delicious, the restaurant was extremely cleanly, the building is one of a kind, and loved how welcoming the entire staff was.

Every time I visit NYC, I have to stop by Angelo’s Pizza. I’ve tried many dishes here over the years, and everything has been consistently delicious. The first time I found this gem, I ordered a pizza, it was so memorable that I came back a couple of years later. This time, I tried the lasagna, and it was absolutely incredible. So good that I know I’ll be ordering it again on my next visit!

Delicious – Randomly walked in at around 3:30, and this is some of the best pizza I have ever had. I am very finicky about too much tomato flavor in sauce, they have it down to an art.

I had a pleasant time at Angelo’s pizza. I thought the Caesar salad was tasty. My companions and I got the margarita pizza as well as the white pizza with broccoli and grilled chicken. I thought that the chicken was very good and complimented the white pizza very well. I like the cheese on the white pizza. The margarita pizza was pretty average although I appreciated how it wasn’t too oily. Overall the portion sizes were quite small for the price. The relatively small Caesar salad was almost $20. Good food but pricy.

What a great pizza. We sat at the bar to watch the very talented wait staff take care of tables and make drinks for all the patrons. The pizza oven was right behind us and made for a wonderful experience. We shared a personal Margarita with pepperoni. Hit the spot.

Just got to the city and we really needed some pie! I had heard this was pretty good – so we took the stroll up Broadway and enjoyed this delicious pizza!
Amazing after a long day traveling around.

The restaurant is in a really great location near Times Square. The place is cozy and you can sit there. The staff’s service is really good. The salad we ordered was really poor and small and the vegetables weren’t fresh, when we asked for salad dressing they asked for an extra $4. The pizza is made in a tavern, it is good and tasty.
