It’s definitely grown since they have opened. The tacos are pretty good, and the birria tacos were delicious, little too much onion in my opinion. Over all, a spot to try.
No one was there so it was quick and quiet.

Angelita’s Taqueria is a true gem in DeLand. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that makes you feel like part of the family. The owners and staff go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome, and their pride in what they do shines through in every detail.

The food is absolutely outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Each dish is fresh, vibrant, and seasoned to perfection, offering a true taste of traditional Mexican cooking. The portions are generous, and the quality is consistently excellent, making every visit memorable.

What sets Angelita’s apart is the combination of incredible food and the genuine kindness of the family behind it. It’s rare to find a place where the atmosphere feels just as special as the meal, but Angelita’s delivers on both fronts.

If you’re in DeLand, this is a must-visit spot. Whether you’re stopping in for tacos, a full meal, or simply to enjoy the welcoming environment, Angelita’s Taqueria is sure to leave you impressed.

The worst 30 bucks I ever spent. Stop by based on all the previous reviews. Ordered $29 worth of to go food to try it out. I ordered a quesadilla by itself on the menu for $5.75. After paying, I looked at my receipt and I was charged $12.35 for my quesadilla. When I asked about it, I was told it was for the ones with beans and rice and all I wanted was just a quesadilla. The menu says it is with salsa and sour cream, but there was no salsa no sour cream in the box. I ordered two cheese, enchilada, kids meals for my kiddos. When we open the box, it didn’t look like any enchiladas we had ever ordered. They were burnt. They also had chicken in them. I took them back to get ones with only cheese like I ordered. When I got back out to the car and opened them, I found that they used The same enchiladas just took out the chicken and replaced it with cheese. Still remnants of the chicken left in the enchilada. Ended up, throwing away the food and going to Garcia‘s for takeout.

Ordered the Burrito Grande to go. While the quality was solid with no real complaints, the $19.99 price tag was the only grande thing about it ($25 after tip) felt steep for what I got. The cost didn’t quite match the experience. I might come back to try the $1 Taco Tuesday deal instead.

Look, I can forgive a lot because in this economy offering dollar tacos is commendable. Unfortunately, the only tolerable meat choice was the pastor. The chicken was dry, the asada unseasoned, and the pastor’s strongest flavor was pineapple. Again, this review is based on the dollar taco Tuesday price. If I had paid regular menu prices I would be far more critical. Also, avoid the horchata. Three fifty for a non refillable glass of the thinnest, watery mix I’ve had in memory was a huge disappointment. Two stars ONLY because they have dollar tacos. Place was clean enough, service decent enough, but the food really missed the mark.

Really disappointed with the food in particular !
Stale chips, obvious bottled salsa (and not even the good stuff), yellow rice very overcooked, refried beans bland and watery, carne asada had some good flavor so obviously some marinade or seasoning was used but it was so overcooked that the provided steak knife could barely cut it and I could barely chew the shoe leather texture !! Flank steak needs a certain amount of moisture added when braising as for asada!!
Honestly, I can’t remember ever having Mexican food as bad, EVER !!
I was really hoping for a good new restaurant to recommend for out of town visitors!!
Sorry to be so harsh but hopefully the truth will allow you to look at the problems and move to address them !!

Wife and I was so excited to try this place out. We ordered 3 carne asada tacos each with a side of rice and beans. Carne asada had no flavor and little meat. The sides, there was so little amount I though if was for a small child. Big disappointment for us and unfortunately we will not be back.

Order to-go for other family members, they ordered birria tacos. They mentioned they have had better.

It’s okay. Order some carne asada tacos from here, and lots of fat on the meat and overcooked. Need more seasoning. Rice tasted plain. The refried bean tasted like from cans bean. Overpriced for 2.5/3 star quality restaurant.
