My husband and I arrived a bit early so we decided to have a drink beforehand at the bar. Next thing you know we struck up a conversation w a gorgeous couple next to us who offered us oysters w our martinis! They were AAAAAAAAMAAAAAAZING! What a fabulous way to start off the night!
When the rest of our party finally arrived, we were sat outside w a beautiful view. We proceeded to order almost every appetizer we can, and they did not disappoint. From the freshest seafood to the most delectable salads, oven baked premium rolls, there literally was nothing that was not eyes rolling back good. For dinner we got the rib eye and sole. WOW! Hands down Angel Oak is the best restaurant in all of Santa Barbara.
The service and the food are amazing. Our hostess, a young woman named Kat, was amazingly friendly and nice. And our server Jen was so kind and helpful.
The food was amazing and the drinks were really good.
Overall, our dinner was fantastic although dessert could’ve been better. I started off with the Beef Tartare, and it was rich and really satisfying. The mustard seed added a great spice element to it. A bit small in portion size but still really good. For my entrée , I chose the California Steelhead and it was absolutely fantastic. The sauce on top was addicting and I enjoyed every bite of it. The fish was also cooked perfectly, which is one of my favorite things to eat in Santa Barbara being that the town is known for their great seafood. We finished up with the Baked Alaska and I wasn’t the biggest fan of it. They poured a lot of liquor on top and it didn’t burn away when they torched it so it basically was sitting in liquid alcohol at the bottom of the dish. Also, the inside was lemon so I found it a bit more sour than I was hoping for, but the marshmallow part was good.
I would recommend to anyone staying at Bacara or visiting Santa Barbara because it’ll be a great dinner. I feel the pricing is fair, especially compared to some other restaurants in town, so it really is an easy suggestion especially if you’re staying at the resort.

Well it appears that the inventor of the telephone knew that of which he spoke.
The “Wagu Short Rib” is readied via a “sous vide” method that involves 48 hours of preparation before you arrive at your table. The combination of flavors are amazing and the smokey dollops of potatoes that accompanied the meat complimented it perfectly.
The “NY Steak” on the other hand is dry aged for 30 days. Although it offers less of a symphony of flavors, the musicians in this orchestra play their instruments with skill and aplomb.
Caution is advised if you order the “Baby Potatoes” as a side. There is nothing “baby” about their serving size and they are best shared.
This is a fantastic and romantic Date Night destination offering good views of the Pacific Ocean and proved to be a great spot for our wedding anniversary. Our Review Team for this Road Trip may have been limited to just 2 individuals, but that was by design.
And that’s…Henry’s Take.

Will not disappoint.
