A real gem in the city. The décor is humble at first glance, but when you pay attention to the details—wooden furniture, USA-made ceramic plates—you can tell this place really cares about quality.

We ordered two vegetable starters: the beetroot salad and the roasted stems. Both had very thoughtful, sophisticated flavors that you don’t come across easily. We also had the margherita pizza—simple on paper, but executed perfectly. The dough was crispy on the outside while staying fluffy inside, the tomato sauce was well-balanced and didn’t overpower the cheese, and the crispy basil added a nice depth to the overall flavor.

The only downside for me personally was that everything leaned a bit oily. I can tell it’s intentional—probably used to finish the dishes—but it’s just more oil than I’m used to.

Service was excellent. The staff were friendly in a relaxed, genuine way, but also very attentive. They timed the pizza perfectly, bringing it out right after we finished our starters and straight from the oven. That level of attention is something you usually only see in fine dining.

Pizza perfection. Focaccia remarkable. Salads out of this world. My foodie expert friend says this is the best restaurant in Tucson. My first visit with him was epic so I’ll have to ponder this accolade a bit before confirming…..still, I loved every order in our meal of 7 different items. Best: crispy focaccia with extra sausage.

No sign outside or in the window plays to the mysterious. Once you are inside, the peaceful atmosphere and scents from the giant wood pizza stove overwhelm. Have a beautiful meal and try as many menu items as possible. Anello is mighty fine.

We ended up at the sweetest spot in Downtown Tucson tonight! It’s not loudly marked, so it feels like a speakeasy. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The ambiance is simple & stunning, as is the menu and the food. We had the Panissa, the Salad (seasonal veggies), the Marinara (vegan! which is why we ended up here) and the Margherita (added Ezzo Pepperoni) pizzas (sourdough crust!!!), and the Blue Corn Lemon Tart. WOW! Everything was incredible and our server, Crockett, was the best. Thanks for the lovely night, hospitality, and delicious food!

Anello strikes that rare balance between rustic and modern without feeling forced. The space feels intentional, cool, and grounded—exactly the kind of pizza spot that draws you in and makes you want to stay awhile. I’ll be honest, my experience didn’t start perfectly when it came to ordering and timing, but what mattered most is how it was handled. The team smoothed everything out, no defensiveness, no attitude—just solid service and care, which goes a long way.

Now the pizza. They have a vegan option that absolutely holds its own, and the sauce deserves its own moment—bright, balanced, and packed with flavor. Every bite tasted intentional. This is the kind of pizza that reminds you how good simple ingredients can be when done right. Anello easily gets my vote as one of the top pizzerias in town, and it’s a place I’ll gladly return to—rough start and all, because the finish was worth it.

Fantastic little pizza spot in Tucson! The “salad” was a fantastic combination of greens, dried apples, dressing and shaved Parmesan – surprisingly good combination of flavor and textures. Pizzas (margherita and a verde – a pistachio and parsley puree) were perfect. Even blue corn lemon tart was on point. Don’t pass up an opportunity to grab dinner here ❤️

God tier. Best in Tucson. If you haven’t been here…what are you doing with your life? Crafted rotating menu of immaculate vegetables (mole carrots today), spectacular salads (cantaloupe chevre toasted almonds). Perfect pizza. Please just go here if you haven’t already.

Please don’t change a thing!
Proper Italian pizza with the option to dust it with chiltepin pepper that you crush yourself, amazing and often changing salad and vegetable specials, solid wine options. When in Tucson, don’t miss out on this place!

Super cozy atmosphere, great service-by-team. Focaccia was perfect, almost wish the pepper jelly had more heat though. We got the verde pizza which had very delicate flavors, and the pistachios didn’t really do anything for us, but the crust is a 10/10.

The star of the show though was the house made sodas. Both the piloncillo and the lime sodas were superb. Would go back just for those honestly.

This restaurant came recommended by a fellow pizza connoisseur and it was nothing short of a fine dining experience. The location is fairly unmarked outside and once you step inside it feels like a little slice of modern minimalist Europe right in Tucson. We ordered one of everything from from “Bites” menu, 3 pizzas and the blue corn lemon tart. All the dough here is sour dough and baked in a wood burning oven, which gives it a unique soft, chewy, pillowy yet crunchy texture. Flat bread had this sweet chili sauce poured on it which was the most amazing pairing. All the food was presented with great detail and remarkable. Lemon tart was worth finishing with as well.
