Fresh, quality, definitely “bistro” worthy food at this little hole in the wall place. We are incredibly pleased to find this hidden gem in gunnison and will look forward to passing through again so we can eat here. Doesn’t look like much when you walk in but don’t be fooled, the margaritas are one of the best we’ve had in many cities of trying them. The shrimp tacos were delicious with big juicy smoky shrimp. Cheese enchilada was perhaps the best I’ve had. Cheese filling mysteriously yummy and felt great in my picky tummy. Guac so good. Corn relish unique, spicy and fresh. The rice was somehow way more pleasing than your usual Mexican restaurant and even the black beans, simple but good. My sis and I are foodies, picky about freshness and quality. We absolutely loved this food and wish we could’ve tried more dishes. Next time …. Oh and the waitress so kind. She let me build my own meal so I could have exactly what I wanted.

Great family Mexican restaurant. Service was slow as only a mom & pop restaurant. Food was awesome, margaritas were great as well. They had just seated a large party prior to us and after a wait to be seated we had no issues. We’ll be back.

This family run hole in the wall had some wonderful margaritas, cold beer, but most importantly great tasting home made food. I can highly recommend this location. Come early as the place fills up quickly after 1800. As per usual, I did not take pictures of the food until after I already polished off half of it. Tasted great. First time I had a Chef’s burrito with all the meats cut up and mixed in one burrito. Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp. I enjoyed it!!

Found this gem on the way to Crested Butt and was glad we did. Read the reviews on yelp everything looked great. Only negative was slow service because it is a Ma and Pop place. The place has a yellow front entrance as wide as one parking spot. We were lucky and got star parking right in front.

When we entered we were surprised because it was larger than appeared, with tables and bar is a ling room.

We were greeted with a smile and seated at a table in the back. The server provided menus and water. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time and everything came in a reasonable time with drinks first. We ordered a large and small margarita’s. The large was large 🙂

Chips and salsa were on point and tasted authentic. We ordered the pork tamale and beef enchiladas and taco cheese combo. Being from San Diego i know my mexican food. Ine if the best tameles i have every tasted. The beef in the taco and enchiladas tasted like moms slow cooked roast beef with a mexi seasoning

Food was amazing, service was quick and good. Parking is street, you may get lucky like I did right in front.

We were there on a Monday 1:30 pm. Tables were available. Check out the menu in the pictures, lots of options.

Love this place!

This is THE place for Mexican food in Gunnison. Better to get here early if you’re in a rush. The happy hour margs are amazing and all the dishes are 5 star in my book. Their carnitas plates are amazing as well!!

Hands down, the best Mexican food I’ve had since moving from Texas to Colorado 5 years ago. I’ve tried a lot of places between Gunnison and Montrose, and this is the only place I’ll spend money on Mexican food. The other places are fine for appetizers or drinks… but when I’m craving good Mexican food, best believe I’m coming here!
The tacos and enchiladas are delicious. My husband loves their burritos.
The chips and salsa aren’t the best, but the food is and it’s a worthy trade-off!
The place is small (which we like), but if you end up seated in the back close to a loud group, your experience might be lacking atmosphere, but that would be the case anywhere.

Tight, narrow restaurant, but the food! The food makes it worth a visit. I almost turned around when I saw the place but my friend said you have to try it. OMG! The food was so good! We had fajitas for 2 and still had leftovers. The margaritas were well made and with generous pours. Highly recommend this place. They also do take out.

Really good food here with great service. I had bean enchiladas with chili verde and carnitas, it was excellent. I tasted the cheese enchiladas with the red sauce and it was excellent too. I tasted the tamale and it was really good. I did not try the quesadilla but my kid enjoyed it. This is a must go to place in Gunnison.

First and only time through Gunnison, stopped for an early dinner. Chips were fresh and crunchy, and salsa had a good kick to it! Tamale was flavorful. Black refried beans were good and rice was OK (a little plain tasting, but that’s what makes it good to mix with beans and salsa). Seating is somewhat limited, but nice little spot. Would stop in again if ever in the area.

The beef guisado was yummy. The salsa was a little spicy and excellent flavor. I rarely find spicy salsa at restaurants. The rice was one of the best I’ve had. I typically don’t enjoy Mexican rice. The margarita was potent and very flavorful. Glad we stopped on our way through Colorado.
