I am a huge fan of Andy’s, but our experience at the Navy Yard location for the Super Bowl was a major disappointment. I placed a pre-order well in advance for a 6:00 PM pickup to ensure we’d be home for kickoff. My wife went in to grab it while I waited outside in the car with the flashers on. We ended up waiting over half an hour after our schedule pick-up time before our pizza was ready.
It felt like the order wasn’t even started until we arrived. We understand it was a busy night and the staff was swamped, but the entire point of a pre-order is to avoid this exact situation. To make it worse, the staff gave us multiple incorrect estimates while we waited, which further soured the experience.
This isn’t our first issue with Andy’s pre-orders. We had an issue (though less severe) at the Foggy Bottom location recently as well. We aren’t dine-in people, and as much as I love the pizza, the recurring hassle makes it hard to justify ordering again.

This was our Super Bowl meal. We ordered online and walked to pick up the pizza and wings. Ordered the special peperoni and buffalo wings. The pizza was extra tasty when adding the hot honey. I ordered fries to take to the next Super Bowl party. The people said the fries were really good. Didn’t look for parking. Just put my flashers on to run in real quick. I can imagine that since everyone was in place for the game, it’s was a easier time to run in quickly. I can see it would be chaos on a busy evening as the street is so small.

As a Chicago native, I know I’m supposed to be all about that deep dish—but let’s be real: I am a thin-crust, brick-oven girl at heart. Being a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I have incredibly high standards. If it’s not baked in a brick oven, I’m usually not even interested.
Then, I found Andy’s Pizza at Navy Yard (Atlas Brew Works). Oh. My. Word.
The Flavor Explosion:
I ordered the Mushroom and Caramelized Onion pizza, and “delicious” doesn’t even do it justice. It was a literal burst of flavor in every single bite. The sweetness of the onions paired with the earthiness of the mushrooms created a profile that was, quite frankly, indescribable.
The Crust: (The Holy Grail)
The crust was spot on. It had that perfect brick-oven char and the exact right amount of “snap” that only a true artisan bake can provide. It is clear they aren’t just making pizza here; they are perfecting it.
A Haven for Vegetarians:
As someone who doesn’t consume meat, finding a veggie pizza that isn’t just an “afterthought” is a struggle in the pizza world. Usually, you get a few sad peppers and call it a day. But at Andy’s? The veggie options are mouth-watering. I saw several other pies coming out of that oven that looked absolutely scrumptious, and I was already planning my next order before I even finished my first slice.
The Final Verdict:
This place is a true gem. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Navy Yard, you owe it to your taste buds to stop by. The atmosphere at Atlas Brew Works is great, but the pizza is the undisputed star of the show.
I’ve officially found my new regular spot. Chicago, I love you, but Andy’s has my heart (and my stomach) now!

Omg. Left an event, so many people, we were hungry and needed somewhere to sober up. They were closing soon but Ray took our order, gave us so much water, and he was very kind (not creepy AT ALL). It was super hectic inside and out of the place and it was just really cool. We will def be back, the pizza was fresh and delicious with fluffy crust… Literally praying they stay open later 10/9 so I can go back after the Chris Brown concert!!

I love Andy’s. It’s one of my favorite pizza places. Darnell was amazing. He really seemed proud of the product they present. He made it welcoming to be there and like he actually loves his job. He gave great beer suggestions. The pizza is amazing. It has the best crust—its cooked but not over cooked. We got the carnivore and various single slices. Def check out Andy’s in Navy Yard if you want a fun atmosphere and great food. Be patient though if it’s packed. It’s worth the wait.

After debating options for pizza in Navy Yard, we settled on Andy’s… and that was the best choice. The service had an option where you could order from your table in a tab style all from your phone. This was a unique and great experience as you could order what you wanted quickly and easily. The deals for the lunch time were also spectacular. This was some of the best pizza I’ve had in a long time.

Ordered a whole Buffalo Chicken and a whole Mushroom pizza for the second time. The order arrived smelling off. After checking under the slices, I realized the pizza had a strong odor of cleaning chemicals, similar to surface cleaners. I am glad I noticed it after just one slice, because consuming more could have put my health at risk.
Avoid this restaurant if you care about your safety.

The pizza here is delicious, like the best I’ve had in DC. But the logistics of ordering food here are confusing and annoying. Firstly, the guy at the front asked for my ID, I told him I wasn’t drinking and I just wanted pizza. So he pointed me to this window at the end where I can just order pizza. Great. Simple. Only problem is, that window has never been opened again in the times I’ve gone back in the future. I understand that this is more of a problem with America’s stupid drinking laws, but it’s still very strange.
Then another time I went, I walked inside and I tried to walk over to the area where the pizzas are on display, and some staff member yelled at me for standing there. Like, I need to see what I’m ordering before I order it?? And he said you have to order at the bar which just makes no sense at all.
To the owners of this establishment: just make it easier for people to order pizza if you want to advertise yourself as a pizza restaurant. Thanks.
