I love the mini cheesecakes here, they’re so perfectly made. My fiance loves the cream, jelly and custard filled donuts as well as the carrot cake muffins.
So obviously we have to get all of the above.
The pricing is well worth the quality.
Will always be back.

Update a year later: quality is still exceptional and the business is still incredible. No change 🙂

Nice little bakery. Glazed Donuts were soft and fresh. Cinnamon roll is big. I think it was a bit dry. Needed more glaze. The buckeyes were different. Not my favorite. First time there and it was oka. Decent prices. Very kind and helpful staff.

Brings such joy to find wonderful business like Andrew’s. Staff was very helpful and pleasant at 0700. So many delicious looking confectionary choices. The Long John was creme filled with a chocolate icing. The crushed nuts were a nice added touch. The donut was perfect and the creme amazing. The nuts added a delightful texture. Glad I had the oppturnity to visit.

As a little girl, my aunt lived across the street from the Washington St. Bakery. As kids, we would simply walk next door and get THE best cut out cookies with a glaze and sugar sprinkles that melted into the glaze. My cousins and I would beg the owners for more cookies, and they were always delighted to bring us smiles and come around the counter to hand deliver them. For years we tried to recreate them and the hint of almond we knew was there. They were magic.

So one day (years ago) we tried out Andrew’s. I had heard that someone in his family knew the owners and he got their recipe. I was transported to 1982 at first bite. There weren’t melting sugar sprinkles on top but everything else was identical. Pure nostalgia. The kind of stuff hard to find in America today. Small town, handed down recipes perfected with trial and time.

I can call Andrew’s the day before and end up with 3 dozen cut-out cookies the next day, in a pretty-in-pink box. I buy in bulk to freeze these treats for holidays and company…and because I can sneak one when I’m needing a friendly reminder that nothing ever leaves us…it just changes form. So the Washington street cookies are now Andrew’s and I just soak up the nostalgia and memories.

Thank you, Andrew and team, for staying a home town gem. Your dedication is unmatched. Pass it on, hand it down, and keep it strictly a Marion secret!

Stopped in for their cream puffs which I had the understanding they only make during the Popcorn Fest. Unfortunately they were out just after opening in the morning. My mother went to check back later and they had a bunch. For my troubles they made things right with some free donuts. They aim to please.

Girl at the counter was pleasant and helpful in assisting my wife and I with choosing our donuts. We stopped in around 9-9:30 am on a Thursday and there was a pretty good selection of donuts still available. Definitely our donut stop if we’re in Marion. Check out their huge Apple Fritters…
