Such a good place in what feels like the middle of “beautiful” nowhere! City gal just passing through and stumbled up on Justin and crew who are very passionate about making your experience a memorable one! The live band on Saturday night was so good! Vox Squadron!!!

I had the beer battered cod sandwich with onion rings!

Anchors Up is an awesome bar and grill right by the lake and it’s got everything you need for a great time! The food is always on point with tasty specials that keep the menu fresh and fun. The staff are super welcoming and make you feel like part of the crew and the locals just add to the chill friendly vibe. It’s a lively spot especially with Karaoke Fridays and live music on Saturdays perfect for a night out with friends. The drinks? Strong affordable and just right. Whether you’re grabbing a bite sipping a cocktail or just vibing with the crowd Anchors Up nails it. Definitely worth checking out!

Recently, my family and I went out with friends to enjoy a karaoke night. It was meant to be a simple evening of music, food, and fun. The atmosphere was lively, and it also happened to be my son’s birthday. He was excited to sing a song with his mom — and they did a wonderful job together.

Afterward, he asked if he could sing another song. What should have been a lighthearted moment quickly turned sour. Instead of handling the request with kindness, the owner responded in a rude and almost confrontational way toward my wife. That one interaction instantly changed the mood of the night.

The experience was a strong reminder of an important truth in business: customer service isn’t just about policies, it’s about people. Every guest who walks through the door is more than a transaction — they’re part of the atmosphere that keeps your business alive.

Not every request can or should be granted, but there is always a right way to say no. A polite explanation, delivered with respect, can go a long way. A harsh or dismissive attitude, on the other hand, leaves a lasting negative impression. In our case, it turned a joyful birthday memory into a disappointing one — and ensured we won’t return.

As business owners, we should never underestimate the power of how we treat people. Customers may forget a small mistake on their order or a technical hiccup, but they won’t forget how you made them feel. Respect, patience, and kindness cost nothing — but they can mean everything.

The place has changed hands, but the service and food levels are the same. Our onion rings were swimming in grease when they were served and the “Smash burgers” are dinky on a White Castle sized bun, and nothing to brag about, waste of $20 a head to eat here. High priced truck stop greasy spoon food

The outdoor bar is really cool place to hang out. The food was definitely not my cup of tea. Although the Cajun spice was there in the gumbo. The sausage in the gumbo was too bland as well as the chicken. The broth was the best part of it. The fried catfish was heavily breaded. The fries were probably the best thing on the plate. The staff looks like they have it together they are friendly.

If you know and love true cajun this is the place for you! Everything we had was amazing from the cajun lemonade, blackened gator appetizer, to the catfish basket was thoroughly delightful. That’s coming from a girl who grew up with a pappaw that had his own catfish restaurant so I’m peticular about enjoying what I consider true cajun. This is a place I live 2 hours away from and will definitely crave and be willing to drive the 2 hours to drive back and eat again. I thought the experience couldn’t get any better but on Saturday night they have live music on patio which ended the night splendidly! Thank you Piddles!

Atmosphere was cute but very cramped. Standing room only. Food was not real Cajun food, it was more like fast food, pre frozen and deep fried maybe. Service was next to nothing. Only one waitress on a Friday night… Had hoped for more.
