The food is always excellent. They serve the menu of Taylor’s Chile, a very unique menu. Taylor’s Chile started out as small family Parlor and then became very famous,it remained in the family until a nice young couple bought the business and they keep the tradition going.

We were in Carlinville for a wedding and had some time between the wedding and reception. My brother-in-law lives in Carlinville and considers this his home bar. My wife and I liked it. Friendly bartender. Beer price was very reasonable. The bar and restrooms were clean. If I lived in Carlinville I’d consider this my home bar, too!

We came in town to stay at the Campground House Airbnb (which btw is awesome) to fish, have bonfires, and have an “unplugged” weekend. We decided to have a “night out” one night and started out at the Anchor Inn. Having been to another bar in the area where we were made to feel super unwelcome, this was an amazing contrast to that. As soon as we walked in, everyone waved and said hi to us. After a few minutes the owner came over to welcome us and we all took a shot together. The rest of our time there was spent discussing other fun stuff to do in the area and Illini sports! 🙂

Best tamales with extra chili around. Very reasonable. Great friendly service too! We sat in the bar area and was perfect!

Great place to enjoy some drinks with friends. The owners are usually there and are very friendly and make you feel welcomed. Very comfortable and friendly environment.
