Our Kitchen: In our small family kitchen we create our personally curated fresh assortment of foods for your enjoyment and love to share what we create with you. We hope you love what we offer and welcome you to join us! Our Restaurant & Story: We love Thai food…and wanted to create something to make it even more special, so we use the natural blue coloring from the Anchan Flower to add a new dimension to the cuisine. Not only are the blue and purple hue’s beautiful, but they are full of the antioxidant Anthocyanin and high levels of Ternatins! Good for the eyes and fighting cancer! There are many other surprising health benefits of this Beautiful flower as well. But we mostly love it because it is pretty! – Anchan Family –

My husband and I always drove past this charming cozy restaurant tucked away in Bala Cynwyd, so we visited for date night and had an amazing meal.

The service was warm, friendly, and immaculate. Our server suggested excellence choices and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I had the wontons and basil fried rice, my husband loved his sweet chili wings and chicken pad kra pao.

Everything was fresh, delicious, and tasted just as good as it looked. 10/10, no notes. We love a good BYOB and cannot wait until we return.

They deserved 5 stars last night. Very friendly staff. We didn’t have resy but they accommodate us comfortably. Food very tasty and plated nicely. For appetizers We had chicken coconut soup, fried dumplings and some sort of pancakes which they send to our table by mistake…main dishes were curry chicken and beef lomain. They looked delishes and tasted the same. Coming back there to explore more

Wow. I’ve been searching for the perfect Drunken Noodle since visiting Thailand fifteen years ago. Anchan’s food is SPECTACULAR. My wife was gawking at me as I ate the whole meal with a giant smile on my face. Perfectly spicy and sweet, the hint of coconut, big delicious shrimp. Just breathtakingly good.

The chicken satay is similarly excellent, but the Pomegranate, Blueberry, and Dark Chocolate Chip ice cream knocked my socks off. I’m not normally a fruit ice cream fan, but this dessert changed my life.

The restaurant itself is cute and intimate, staff are friendly, and parking is easy. I’m mad that I’ve lived 15 mins from here for five years and never found it.

Perhaps the BEST Thai food in PA! Had the Duck and Massaman Curry. The duck had a perfect crispy skin and the chambord sauce was balanced perfectly between sweet and flavorful. The curry was equally delicious… rich and mild spicy. Finished with mango sticky rice. Yum! We stumbled across Anchan and absolutely loved it.

This location has been a Thai restaurant for a few years. It recently changed ownership and the menu – for the better. The food and the service are excellent. Dinner Thai restaurants typically bring out the food when it’s ready. We were asked (party of 3 that didn’t order 3 entrees). The food was hot and delicious. Ask your server if you need help about options and spice level. They know and we’re very helpful. Highly Recommended.

Update: party of two and the food is still excellent with items you won’t find on the typical Thai restaurant menu.

Update: party of 6 on a night when the restaurant was packed and the food is still excellent. They only challenge was between the full restaurant and a steady steam of takeout orders, service was a bit slow

When traveling, I try to select a local “mom & pop” places for meals. Based on online reviews, I decided to try Anchan. Despite dining via delivery (laziness struck), I was not disappointed! The pad kee mao was piping hot and absolutely delicious – with just a bit of heat. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the chicken moist. The blue sticky rice was not quite as amazing, but was still good (sampled based on the reviews of others). The attention to detail and quality in the meal is evident. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll try to dine there. Highly recommended and reasonably priced. You won’t regret it!

Not only is this location a hidden gem, but one of the best Thai food I have ever had. Apple, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly! Every dish we had was a delight. The vegetables were fresh and had a delicious crunch, the seafood was refreshing, the meat was tender, and the dessert was so unique! I cannot wait to dine here again.

I ordered delivery from this place and overall, it was a solid experience. The beef lo mein was flavorful l, though the portion felt a bit small, especially if you’ve got a big appetite like I do. The standout item for me was the caviar crab rangoon which was perfectly crispy with just the right touch of sweetness. That said, it’s definitely on the pricier side, my order came to $42 (1 beef lo mein and 1 crab rangoon) before delivery fees. Tasty food, but I’d love a bit more bang for the buck.

Finally I found a great curry in the Philadelphia area. Travel a few minutes outside of the city – it’s totally worth it. The curry was rich with silky coconut milk. Not watered down at all!

Anchan is a culinary treasure trove that promises an authentic Thai dining experience like no other. From the moment you step foot into this cozy establishment, you’re greeted with warmth & hospitality that’s as genuine as the flavors they serve. Owners Apple & Adam set the tone with their welcoming demeanor, ensuring every visit feels like a homecoming. But the delights don’t end there. Anchan’s curry dishes, such as the green curry with vegetables & tofu, showcase the restaurant’s mastery of Thai flavors, leaving taste buds tingling with delight. And let’s not forget the blue of anchan itself, a charming touch that adds to the restaurant’s allure!
