I only come here because it’s the only place in St. Helena open at night. If there were literally any other option, I’d happily go there instead.
This place is a masterclass in how not to run a bar. I was out with a friend ordered one beer, finished it, and then asked for a cocktail. The owner said he didn’t have the ingredients to make it (apparently a bar without bar supplies is a thing). While I was deciding on another drink, he decided for us: “No, I think you’re done. Time to call it a night,” followed by dramatically slamming his hands on the bar and walking off. We were both caught off guard as-well as the gentleman sitting right next to us.
This isn’t an isolated incident—I’ve seen him do this to multiple customers, seemingly when he doesn’t feel like making drinks and wants to be lazy. Hospitality at its finest !
The whole place feels like it’s being run out of obligation rather than passion. The bartenders (all family) look miserable, and customers are only here out of necessity, not desire. No one chooses this place—they end up here.
Either fix it, or do everyone a favor and sell it to someone who actually wants to run a bar.

What a wonderful hoke in the wall bar. KAT the bartender and daughter of founder and owner was amazing. Locals and tourists welcome from the security team who were the most adorable puppies to the dollar dollar bills on the ceiling what a perfect spot to just be chill and dance the bar!

I have never been treated so disgustingly in a business in my entire life. We walked into Ana’s Cantina simply to use the bathroom and were immediately screamed at and verbally abused by the woman at the front. Not talked to. Not informed. SCREAMED at.
She then forced us to pay for a bottle of water just to use the restroom and had the absolute nerve to say, “It costs money to flush the toilet,” as her justification. The audacity alone was shocking — but it gets worse.
After being rude, hostile, and downright nasty, she then asked for a TIP. A tip. For what? Yelling at customers?
The way this woman came across was vile, unprofessional, and embarrassing for any establishment. I don’t care if bathrooms cost money, rules are rules, but there is ZERO excuse for screaming at people and speaking to them with such contempt.
I would never, ever, EVER recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants with decent food and staff who know how to treat humans with basic respect. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from Ana’s Cantina. And read all the other one star reviews for yourself.

Had a blast speaking with Roxy! Great bartender and shared all her local spots with us. Loved hearing the history of her family and the only bar in st. Helena. However, I have to be honest, the drink prices for a dive bars were outrageous. We ordered 4 drinks and were 100 bucks. Didn’t expect that at all. We thought we could finally spend a little less our last night there for beer and 2 mules, they were doubles. We wanted to give Roxy a nice tip but couldn’t. I understand the cost of living there and running a business is expensive there.

Roxanne is CRAZY!!!!!! So sweet when we walked in, regulars are asking for ID (NOT BOUNCERS), and Roxy flipped out when we asked for the volume to go up for the Super Bowl. We left immediately to avoid to conflict. Roxy is not fit to bartend at all! So happy Erosion was across the street. Not an ad but nothing else was open.

Great atmosphere expensive drinks. They have a great drink selection, beer and liquor. They also have a large bar and pool table. I thought this was going to be dive bar prices, but unfortunately a shot of Jamison was $13. The staff was really nice so I can’t complain in the end. This is Napa Valley prices.

I know times are rough but when the bar is completely empty and they won’t even let somebody use the bathroom they wanna charge you any amount of money or you have to be a customer which is fair if you’re in San Francisco but come on in Napa Valley! So I paid four dollars to use the bathroom because I really had to, seems like good customer service would be just letting someone use the bathroom especially if you’re not busy.

Very enjoyable bar with a lot of attitude and class. They only serve various versions of hot dogs along with the drinks but I had a the a Mexican type hot dog which was delicious with my Moscow mules. The Moscow mules were very good and I definitely had to sit a few minutes to make sure that I could drive safely. I will enjoy returning to this location it was very very good
